On arrival we recieved Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Very good service. We had a delicious evening meal. The Room very clean and warm , lots of tea and coffee provided. Bed was very comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend highly.

The Star Hotel is in the small town of Twynholm. It is a small hotel, the rooms are adequate, but the restaurant and bar are wonderful. The people are so friendly and kind, the food was great, and you got to mix with the locals who were so friendly!!

Last minute booking as we were touring on our motorbikes. Found this little quiet pub in the village and it was a great little stop over. Parked the bikes right outside the bedroom window. Bed and Breakfast was value for money. Staff were very friendly too. Definitely book this place again if we're in the area.

I stayed for 3 nights in late May/early June for a wildlife photography weekend with Scottish Photography Hides. The hotel was in the perfect location for the hides. The room itself was basic but clean and comfortable. It was in an annex separate to the pub with its own front door which was useful as I was keeping some antisocial hours. The owners were lovely and will prepare a packed lunch if requested in advance. The one meal that I had in the pub was very good.

Lovely, small b&b. They only have 3 bedrooms in an annexe next to the pub Very friendly owner, nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast. Never got to try the meals in the pub Near to Kirkcudbright. Handy for exploring Dumfries and Galloway

The room was esquisite and the bed was so comfy, free tea, coffee and biscuits, ur own kettle and lovely bathrpom big shower 4 two. Then the meals and breakfasts at the star hotel were impecable, great place for a weekend away and family oriented and dogs allowed also.
