ザ レジデンス ザンジバル(The Residence Zanzibar)

Je suis une voyageuse solo et je cherchais un hôtel où me reposer après mes folles escales dans tout Zanzibar. Toute l’équipe de l’hôtel a été aux petits soins avec moi. Je n’ai manqué de rien. La chambre était spacieuse et magnifique avec la piscine et le petit jardin. Le domaine est très boisé ce qui fait que vous pouvez croiser des petits animaux sympathiques. Encore merci à toute l’équipe de l’hôtel The Résidence pour tout le soin apporté à mon séjour.

Amazing hotel! The rooms are beautiful, the view is stunning, the restaurants are great, the buffet is diverse and delicious, and the staff is extremely nice, efficient, and helpful. The hotel also offers a lot of cool activities, such as catamaran or boat trips. Special mention to Lukeman and the yoga sessions he gives. He is a very attentive and kind instructor. I really enjoyed my stay there.

What a gem this hotel is. The staff are adorable - so friendly and willing to help. The restaurant staff were so attentive and helpful. Especially Nitin, Joyce, Jesca and Abdul. The food is fresh and healthy and fruit and vegetables are abundant but in particular the sea food is fantastic. We travel a lot and all over the world and while there may be hotels with bigger wine lists or more facilities, you won’t find a hotel with a bigger heart or staff more genuine and more keen to ensure your holiday is perfect. We almost don’t want to tell people how wonderful this hotel and island are in case it becomes too busy! We want it all to ourselves.

Really lovely beach resort in Zanzibar. Top notch design and facilities, definitely luxury. Beautiful spacious rooms, clean and beautiful design. Small/medium size resort so not overcrowded, it was peaceful. Good options for water sports and activities. Good room amenities MAJOR downside- food. Food was really terrible every day. Breakfast lunch dinner, terrible. Coffee terrible, cocktails terrible. 2/10.

OK, there for one night only so the review is based on that. At the end of the day, the pros outweighed the cons but the cons caused us a fair degree of discomfort. However, lets go with the pros first. Our room was excellent and featured an outdoor plunge pool which, unfortunately, we did not use, the same applying to the attractive infinity pool. A sunset drink on the jetty was good though the sunset was a bit of a let down. Food was OK in the restaurant but not great and the attitude of the staff was a bit variable - some being quite affable, others quite cold. However, the main cons were as follows. On an early arrival, we were told the room would be available at two rather than the normal three o'clock which we were pleased with. So, in the interim, they suggested we take a shower in the spa which was a welcomed suggestion given our long journey. Problem was, the showers were not working. The 2 o'clock check in turned out to be 3.30 by which time we were totally hot and bothered with no excuse or apology being offered by the reception personnel who had made the promises. So, given the one night stay, the 3 rating may be harsh but we both felt it should have been better.

This is a wonderful hotel for relaxation and rest and quite location. The service from the staff teams is fantastic. The pools villas are super and spacious with great facilities also. One are of improvement to make this a five star experience is the food offering which is not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel

Excellent hotel with good management and staff .. what an outstanding experience. The hotels is huge and a wonderful beach front . I love it personally, The tides makes it special which I have never seen before . The dining experience is absolutely amazing with huge variety of foods. A la carte lunch . I would like to thank the chef Arjun and satiish . A big shout out to Prasanta and Nitin . Also the Japanese manger KO at the reception for her kindness and welcome. thank you so much all residence staff and the management.

The staff at this hotel are nothing short of outstanding. They are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The food is also excellent. My wife and I have been to a lot of resorts around the world and I have to say this comes very very high on the list. We would definitely return here.
