As a fishermen and non golfer I won the weekend in a local competition. My Initial thoughts was, What am I going to do with this price. I decided as a person that never played golf before I am going to use this weekend to find out what golf is about. The accommadation was perfect, The golf couse was really nice. The only thing that was bad the weekend was my abillity to play golf. Probably will stick to fishing. But for anyone that like golf Simola is well worth the trip. Thank you Simola for giving me the oppertunity to experience your piece of paradise.

First time spending time in Knysna without just passing through, I don’t regret my decision of picking Simola

We stayed 4 nights in a Luxury Suite enjoying stunning views across the golf course to the distant lagoon. The room was beautifully decorated & spacious, with extensive appointments, however let down by a bathroom with chipped tiles, evidence of mould around the shower screen & toilet fixtures needing maintenance to straighten them up. An iron & ironing board had to be requested from reception, rather than being provided in room. No robes were provided. The main restaurant closed mid April until November. The only dining was at the golf members lounge, with the same menu from the golf bar. The menu was wide & ok. Breakfast however was terrific. The staff were friendly & helpful. Kids under 16 are not permitted in the indoor pool. The gardens & golf course are beautifully designed & maintained. We did enjoy our stay, but recommend one does one’s research to know what you’d be getting & suggest that improvements are needed to warrant a 5 star rating.

As a 5 star Hotel the accommodation was amazing, however, the service was poor. Not shown how to use amenities in room and attention by staff cannot compare to Fancourt, another 5 star. Golf needs better signage and GPS on buggies.

Stunning setting for a golf course with rolling hills and views to the Knysna lagoon. Friendly and helpful staff, rooms are extremely generous and comfortable. Nothing to critisize, although some areas are a little tired. A revamp should be on the cards if Simola wants to remain world class.

Excellent value for money. Family and I had our own privacy in two separate rooms with our security of the one room combined. Breakfast was amazing. Great safe enclosed playground with insane views of the golf course

One of the few places that have maintained the excellent standard of every over the years. Stayed at simola about 10 years ago and amazingly just as awesome. Apartments excellent, breakfasts excellent, service excellent

Rooms and facilities within them are excellent - and the views over the golf course, toward Knysna Heads (and the sunsets) are very special. The food and drink at the golf club is very good and well priced. Its a terrific golf course - undulating, varied, demanding, overall a very good test of your golfing skills. Pool, gym and spa facilities all good (wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed their massage while we played golf). Overall the four of us - myself, wife, daughter and son-in-law really enjoyed our stay - thanks to all.

Nice staff very friendly and flexible. Suites luxurious as you might expect with spectacular views. Some remarks. The sleeping room is not very dark making our baby wake up very early and the overday naps challenging. Also getting in and out by car rather cumbersome with the security checks. Breakfast okay but you pay additional for the capuccinos. For the rest marvelous place. Highly recommend it. And oh yeah the golf course magnificent. Thank you Simola for making our stay a great experience.
