Napier Heritage by Velvet Hotels

The room was presentable enough but the breakfast was not nice at alll. Very little options and did not meet our expectations in terms of taste. 2nd day, it was raining heavily but we still decided to go out for breakfast as we could not eat the food at the hotel. It was not because we are not used to Indian food but this one here, the taste was just not nice at all

I recently stayed at Napier Heritage in Fort Kochi with my best friend's family, and we had a fantastic experience. The hospitality was outstanding, making us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff was attentive and always ready to assist with a smile. We tried multiple cuisines during our stay, and each dish was a delight. The flavors were authentic and delicious, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. The combination of great food and exceptional service made our stay memorable. I highly recommend Napier Heritage for anyone visiting Fort Kochi. It’s definitely a must-stay for an enriching and comfortable experience.

This hotel has the potential to be fantastic but sadly comes very much under that. While it was functional it certainly isn’t amazing. However, it is cheap and you get what you pay for! If you like a luxurious room, this isn’t for you. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfy enough. Some rooms don’t have any windows. Ours did but because we were in the 2nd floor the eves of the old house blocked a lot of light. There was aircon which was lovely and cold all be it very loud. I use earplugs anyway so not a problem. There was also a ceiling fan. The bathroom had modern appliances but was otherwise quite ordinary. There was also limited hot water. There was no servicing of the rooms at all during the 3 nights we stayed so our bins were overflowing when we checked out. The floor tiling was so pretty but needed a good scrub around the edges. The pool was good but the lounges dilapidated and unusable. We don’t eat at the restaurant. The location is excellent for wandering around Fort Kochi. With a little bit of love this place could be fantastic. But at the moment it is just passable.

We were placed in a ground-floor room directly across from the reception, which reeked of dampness and mold. The window couldn’t be opened as it faced a sort of courtyard filled with trash and debris. The electrical outlets looked unsafe, and the walls were stained with moisture damage. Our guide spoke with hotel management to request a room change, but unfortunately, no other rooms were available. Their only solution was to mask the smell with a spray, which did nothing to address the underlying issue. As more members of our group began to report similar problems with their rooms, we ultimately decided to leave and switch to another hotel. A very disappointing experience overall.

This hotel is nothing but a scam wrapped in pretty pictures. Don’t be fooled by the photos they flash online, the reality is disgusting. The rooms reek of dampness and mold, walls are peeling off with water damage, electric sockets are rusty and unsafe, and the place looks like it hasn’t been maintained in years (see photos). We booked this property for our group and were horrified the moment we stepped in. It was so filthy and unsafe that we had to shift the entire group to another hotel the same night. That should tell you how bad it was. To add insult to injury, we had paid an advance of ₹10,000, which they flat-out refused to refund, hiding behind a “policy” while offering zero accountability. The management is unbelievably rude, instead of listening to our complaint, the *** on the phone kept chatting with people in the background and ignored us entirely. No apology, no courtesy, no professionalism. This is not hospitality; it’s fraud. They take your money, give you a dump in return, and then gaslight you when you ask for a refund. Stay away from this hotel if you value your money, safety, or basic human decency. There are far better and more honest hotels in Kochi.
