タノテ ヴィラ ヒル(Tanote Villa)

Was to stay for 4 nights, out after just 1! Would rather sleep under a tree than stay there again. ROOMS: broken and unlockable balcony door, barely working aircon (the cooling mode only works if on lowest fan mode, the rudest manageress showed us that with the widest eye roll), the curtains broken LOCATION: booked through Booking and it's utterly mismapped so beware if you're looking for a beach holiday. It is NOT 160ft (50 mts) from the beach, it is 1800 ft (550 mts as per Google Maps) over a steep hill. The hotel is clearly aware of this but the manageress couldn't care less telling us she didn't care what was on the Booking's website as their own was showing it fine, ha ha :) There are also 2 swimming pools, which may be appealing to first timers but be ready to leave it with your skin nearly melted of the amount of chlorium applied. Lastly, the hotel manageress is the most impolite, dismissive and attitude ridden receptionist I've ever come across. At check in, be prepared for a list of dos and dont's which straight away makes you feel school like rather than opening you to a cool holiday experience! We weren't surprised then when she refused to refund us for the remaining 3 nights giving a fake smile, we pretty much didn't care ourselves at that point as we wanted to go somewhere with good vibes and positive energy, it just showed again that she was lacking any customer service skills and they did care much more about the money than their travellers experience. Go elsewhere and enjoy the ride, there are plenty of lovely places around with actually LOVELY people in them :) you can find both at Koh Tao but you won't find it at Tanote Villa.

We loved everything about Tanote Resort. Our room with its ensuite bathroom and terrace was spacious, clean and comfortable; the swimming pools were super enjoyable and the view over the Tanote Bay and its surroundings was absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming; most come from Myanmar in search for a more hopeful future. A very BIG THANK YOU to all of them for making out stay so special; three brilliant days; what a treat! A side note on the food served at the resort which has been criticized in some reviews. As far as we are concerned, we found breakfast and the food served in the evening excellent. Overall, this is a stay we will remember. We will be back!

Все плюсы отеля померкли перед недоброжелательностью на рецепшене. Нам отказались там помочь с арендой байка, сказали, это не их проблемы (при этом после нас французам нормально помогали),,также не понравился небезопасный трансфер от пирса до отеля (который мы ждали с маленьким ребенком минут 40( машину набили большим количеством людей, чем вмещалось,люди сидели друг на друге . Также не встретили как долгожданных гостей;?; встретили сухим сводом правил, регистрация была, как в санатории плохом , а как известно, театр начинается с вешалки. Это первый отель в Таиланде в моем опыте с такимиотвратительным сервисом и нежеланием помогать гостям В итоге байк нам помогли арендовать спокойно в соседнем отеле, где мы даже не жили . Есть ощущение; что в отеле все расслабились, туристы и так едут, нечего и стараться. Разочарована!

Une expérience horrible. Salle de bain salles et dans un état catastrophique: cafard, du moisi, pas d’eau chaude… la totale ! Carrelage de la piscine en décrépitude, qui vous tranche les pieds, un restaurant plus que moyen. Une réceptionniste horrible, qui ne prend en aucun cas vos considérations en compte et qui parle très mal et qui en plus de ça, fait preuve de mauvaise foie et de malhonnêteté. FUYEZ

Die Sicht vom Pool und dem Restaurant ist super schön. Die Anlage ist etwas in die Kahre gekommen, gerade die Garten Villa. Hier hinterlässt die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit ihre Spuren. Für ein paar Tage ist es aber eine super Unterkunft.

The staff at Tanote Villa was simply perfect, they were efficient and willing to help anytime, from the reception to the restaurant staff. The food at the restaurant was pretty good and the hotel facilities and surroundings amazing. The beach is barely 5 minutes walking and one of the bests in the island. Only negative thing is the location as it is quite far from the city center and taxis are way too expensive in the island. If you ever go to Koh Tao, this is definitely the place to stay! Wil je een kakkerlak in je badkamer, rode mieren in je bed… dan moet je hierheen gaan. De kamers zijn zo vies, maar vooral de badkamer. Ze kennen hier geen gloor of schoonmaakmiddel… bah! We hebben onze was hier laten doen, maar wij kregen 5 andere kledingstukken van iemand anders erbij…. Het hotel zelf: Zwembad heel mooi, rustgevend met mooi uitzicht. Restaurant: Niet over te spreken… smoothies echt zo vies. We hadden een sandwich met letterlijk 10 patatjes. En avondeten, niet bijzonder. Locatie: helemaal afgelegen, dit wisten we van de voren. Je moet echt een scooter huren om ergens heen te kunnen. Of een taxi, maar die is prijzig. Het hotel zelf ligt aan een Bay, hier kan je onwijs mooi snorkelen! Ideaal van deze plek! Personeel: De receptioniste met bril heeft moeite met het tonen van empathie. Wanneer wij verschillende bovenstaande negatieve punten met haar bespraken, kon ze niet veel meer zeggen dan: “dat kan gebeuren”. Een “sorry” was voor haar lastig om te zeggen. De rest van het personeel was wel erg vriendelijk en was bereid om je met van alles te helpen.

We went to Tanote villa with our 3 children. The hotel is absolutely wonderful, it is great for all travellers: couples or families. A spécial thank you to Jido, who helped us organise our stay in Koh Tao, she was excellent, very nice and thoughtful, and extremely efficient, would definitely recommend this hotel! There is connecting rooms which is very nice for a family! And would love to come back again in this beautiful hotel with amazing views and a great bay for Snorkeling (beginners as well) after a 5 minutes walk in the jungle!

Overall our experience at the hotel was very average. The pool and grounds of the property are beautiful with a lovely path to the beach. However our AC unit did not cool down our room making for a very uncomfortable stay. The bathroom is outdated with luke warm water and the restaurant was little to be desired. This property is also out of the way from the main town with expensive taxis in and out and nothing within walkable reach.
