Backwater Breeze

Best homestay that I have experienced ! Ajish Varghese & his mother are extremely hospitable & kind. I'd highly recommend it for a waterfront experience.

Wonderful hosts who made our family very welcome. Fabulous breakfast and great advice about local places to eat. They also arranged an excellent boat driver for us to go birdwatching. Great location for a peaceful relaxed break from the hustle and bustle, would definitely recommend to other overseas tourists.

The ideal place for a sunrise backwater tour. We loved it here. Just four simple rooms upstairs with good aircon and our favourite 'bucket' shower. Host Ajish is immensely charming and helpful and arranged our two sunrise tours (Rps 800 per hour for the boat) from our doorstep, which was simply wonderful. So much better than staying in a giant houseboat that can't negotiate the smaller canals. Huge numbers of eagles, cormorants, kingfishers, etc. Wonderfully tropical. Location is fairly remote so food choices are limited. The nearest restaurant is very basic and barely OK. For lunch we tuktuked to the opposite bank and had a fabulous simple lunch at Pappanante. We also hired kayaks for an hour (Rps 500 pp) at sunset. Beware the limited dinner option but highly recommend for location, value for money and charming host.
