Chambre fabuleuse avec vue sur la mer.

The bed was super comfortable and the room/bathroom very clean. We spent a little extra to get a room that opened up to the harbor. What a view! Perfection! We also ordered the breakfast and enjoyed it on our last morning looking out at the marina. A nice touch was reception bringing us wine glasses with ice so we could enjoy our bottle when we first arrived. My only grievance was receiving only two bath towels. It would have been nice to have a few hand towels, but we managed. Be forewarned, you will park about 10 minutes away (at your own cost but it was affordable at $14 Euros for the night) and climb two sets of stairs to get to reception. It was fine for us but could be issues for others. This hotel is priced right and in the middle of all the action. I would definitely recommend!

Myself and my daughter spent a couple of days at this hotel in early April. We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is very pretty, in a great location and the breakfast delivered to our room was amazing, but what really made our trip was the great service. I'm sorry I didn't get the gentleman's name who was on reception, but I have to say he couldn't have done more or been more pleasant and he certainly added to our lovely few days away in La Rochelle.

Lovely hotel in the heart of La Rochelle and would highly recommend. We had a family room which was spacious and had everything we needed. 10 minute walk to the beach but in the middle of town with lovely view of the harbour area. Vincent at reception was extremely helpful. Only potential downside was the steep stairs to get to reception if you had heavy luggage or not great on the feet. We will be back.

A gorgeous view from our hotel room. Very central location. The hotel had sent us an email regarding the parking options, however it was not forwarded by **********, so we were unprepared. However it was quite a distance from any parking. Most of the free parking was full, although we did find some eventually - Paid for parking was closer but a queue to get in.

Firstly, nowhere to drop off bags in late morning because noone there and door locked until 3pm which we did not expect and had been travelling from Nantes and it was hot weather. Noone is there at night, either, didnt feel safe - if an emergency would not have been good. View from room was lovely but standard of room very tired and neglected. Was cheap room interior, in poor state of repair - shelf fell down, bedside shelf almost fallen down & all extremely basic and felt neglected. Bathroom towels old and no longer white - need throwing away!! This hotel definitely over priced. Harbour view and location of hotel is only good point. The photos supplied by hotel are misleading.

Outstanding, a perfect location over looking the harbour and within the buzz of the night life and the many restaurants. Staff were very helpful. However a word of warning the parking is difficult as the hotel is located in a pedestrian only area . This was not made enough on booking.

Good and clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Surprisingly quiet considering the location. Would be happy to stay here again.

La Marine is in an ideal location at the head of the Vieux Port so all the main attractions are within easy walking range. The more expensive rooms have superb vies over the harbour. Our room was clean and comfortable with a sofa, three chairs and a table. Coffee and tea making facilities were provided. There is no restaurant or breakfast room so breakfast is brought to one’s room on a tray: Coffee/tea, orange juice, yoghurt and a selection of pastries. The main negative of the hotel is that there is no lift. Reception is up two steep flights of stairs from the street and our room 16 (no view but cheaper) was up a further two flights of stairs. Even with just and luggage we struggled and we would have found it impossible with 23kg flight luggage. Overall a great location but also relatively expensive although this was La Rochelle at the height of the tourist season.

We had rooms at the front overlooking the harbour which was lovely. There is no restaurant at the hotel so had breakfast in our bedroom, the breakfast and the view were great. The room was clean and comfortable with a very good shower. Very good double glazing which is needed as the hotel is over bars and restaurants. The parking is not next to the hotel but an under ground car park at least a ten minute away which with suit cases dragging behind and busy streets is not fun. Two flights of stairs to reception and then a further one to our rooms was not much fun. The hotel staff finish at 8pm, I did ask for some milk but was told to ask the morning staff when they come on duty at 7.30 am

Wasn’t aware of the two flights of steps to reception - very difficult with suitcases.

Lovely - we had a water-facing view and I could not stop looking out the French doors - absolutely beautiful. It’s super loud and active out there but the soundproofing doors work very well. Friendly people at reception. Room decor was new and cool and clean. Adored it.

Lovely friendly staff, nice room, comfy bed with great views and aircon. Perfect for watching the world go by after a hectic day. La Rochelle never disappoints. Option of breakfast in your room. Thank you La Marine we will be back in 🙂
