I had been in the area as it’s where my little sister lives since nearly a decade: Lanjaron, on the outskirts of the Sierra Nevada National Park. It’s a beautiful area, in itself it’s well worth a visit. This was my first time as a rider, it’s been an amazing holiday. The rides were excellent, right amount of adventure in the most fantastic scenery with the occasional wild goat, flock of voltures in the perfect temperature (at least for someone coming from Yorkshire!). My horse Akis was like a little mountain goat, so sure footed in all situations, a spicy sweat girl, so well trained and at the same time obviously enjoying the adventure too. I will miss her and definitely fell in love with her. Food and accommodation were absolutely great, I was spoiled by Sharon and Bongo at Casa del Bienestar. My accommodation was spotless, had everything you could wish for including a swimming pool, the food was delicious as the company of my hosts. At Caballo Blanco they work as a rescue centre, and their horses come from different backgrounds and have found the best care and home with them. Thank you Finn, Allegra, Lotte, Emma and Sarah for looking after me as well as you obviously look after the lucky horses in your care. I wish I could stay here a little longer, the holiday just flew! I would definitely recommend this holiday to anyone, and will remember these days as some of the best ones of my life.

Just spent the best four days at Caballo Blanco. This included two full days riding the gorgeous Coco who I’m smitten with. I was out of my comfort zone, particularly with arthritis and two new hips, but the guides Lotte, Olive and Veronica were wonderful, reassuring and very patient. Coco, a rescue and rehabilitated horse, looked after me. She was sure-footed and calm and my trust in her grew and grew, to the point that I cantered for the first time in several years. The scenery is breathtaking and we saw wild mountain goats and an eagle on our way up the mountain along a cobbled trail so high that we were in the clouds. The horses are very well trained and well cared for. Our hosts Sharon and Bongo were very hospitable and their home is lovely. Bongo’s food was delicious and he kindly gave me the recipe to one of his dishes. As a vegetarian I was catered for very well. The trip was very well organised with transfers and transport to and from the ranch spot on. I can’t recommend this highly enough!

We had a lovely 2,5h ride with great views. Sally and Duke are amazing steady horses. Nice gaits and excellent climbers. Lotte our guide was wonderful and very experienced. The horses are really well taken care of. We highly recommend Caballo Blanco.

Our 4th trip to Las Alpajuras riding at Caballo Blanco with Sarah and her team. As usual we were matched to great horses and our guide Lotte was brilliant. We love the peace and the wildlife you see up in the mountains. What fantastic views too!

This was an abosulute amazing experience. Everything was well organized, the trails were beautiful, horses were good taking care off, trustworthy and fun, accomodations fantastic, food prepared with love, competent guiding. An experience worth while. If I would need to mention a downside I would say my last stay in a hotel in Lanjaron was dissapointing compared to the rest of the trip. And… it was hard saying goodbye. Other than that I would definitely recommend a trip with coballo blanco. I will certainly be looking forward to be back someday!

Went for a beautiful 2.5 hour ride with my daughter and a friend. The guide was super friendly and knowledgeable, the horses well suited to each of us, well trained and forward going. The views above the ranch are stunning . I would highly recommend

Fabulous views and spectacular landscape in every direction and at every altitude! Tranquil environment. Delicious, healthy meals and picnic lunches in bucolic locations. Patient, helpful guides. Lots of trotting and exhillarating canters. Willing, happy horses.

Caballo Blanco is a special place. A total escape from the real world and all the stresses of life. With a warm, rosemary scented wind on your face and a well cared for pair of ears leading the way in front of you, the best kind of adventure awaits. Fin showed us the way, his kind manner with the horses and his watchful eye over our ride was constant and reassuring. Our hosts Emily and Lally greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm, I will be thinking about Emily's paella for days to come. There is no place like Andalucia, Caballo Blanco is a haven for both people and animals. Thank you Sarah, your team and Mohita the sweetest, I hope to see you all again soon ✨️

Again, another fantastic few days away at Caballo Blanco. I go with a friend every year these days and I have yet to find anything better. Thank you to all of you who make it such a special time for us. You are all very special people with amazing horses that are cared for. Accommodation is brilliant, scenery and riding is amazing, and food to die for . See you next year. xx

Had the most amazing four days trekking with Caballo Blanco. The horses were so well looked after and very sure footed even when going up and down the steep mountain paths. The scenery was incredible and across the four days the rides were very varied with one going through wildflower meadows to a waterfall and another through olive groves. Sarah was great at communicating and super friendly which was reassuring as a solo traveller and her work with rescue horses is incredible! We had Finn as a guide for three of the days who was very knowledgeable and also helpful. As part of the trip I stayed at a couple of Cortija’s and both hosts were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome and we had delicious home cooked food. Would highly recommend Caballo Blanco especially for those who want to get out into nature, I hope to come back again!

Amazing ride. Had the best day, I rode Mojita who was great, and Smilla was my guide, a wonderful companion - dealt with a feisty bull very well! Thanks to all. Picked up and dropped off from Lanjarón, all very easy. Perfect way to enjoy Sierra Nevada

An amazing ride in spectacular surroundings! The horses are so well cared for & are full of spirit-so hard to come by at trekking centres that often over-work & under-value their horses. The guides & owner are lovely people & we felt totally safe & looked after on our ride. Highly recommend & worth every euro!

This is the second time I have come back to this corner of paradise and I am always very delighted with the warm welcome from the whole team and of course also the great horses. December is a great month to ride with magnificent autumn colours and a beautiful blue sky. A big thank you Pieper, Blossom and Mero for carrying me on your back.
