Our Memorable Visit in Lexington From the moment we arrived until we checked out we had an absolutely amazing stay at The Georges! Everything was top shelf. Our Room was gorgeous in a wonderfully historic building on the Main Street in Lexington, VA. It was close to all the historic sites we came to experience!

First the good things. They've done a wonderful job and restoring several old buildings in downtown Lexington. They gave me an upgrade when requested so I didn't have to climb the stairs to the third floor. Their shuttle transportation service was excellent. The breakfast was fine. They brought me a mini fridge to keep my medicine cold overnight as there wasn't one in the room. My main complaint was that our room and the entire building was freezing. I struggled for some time with the thermostat and finally someone came up to fix it. The bed had a thick down quilt on it. Apparently their expectations are that people want to sleep in freezing temperatures with heavy blankets. Maybe many do. Also, in case anyone else comes to Lexington expecting to use Uber or Lyft, they don't exist. Call ahead and use the George's excellent shuttle service.

Beautiful upscale hotel located in historic buildings. The renovations are first class with great attention to luxury and provision for all needs. Everything about this property is of the highest quality including the staff. Each room is different and beautifully appointed with high quality furnishings, linens, towels and products. We had drinks and dinner in the casual restaurant, and made to order breakfast - all were excellent and service was attentive without being intrusive. We HIGHLY recommend The Georges - well worth their usual rates and a real treat if you can get a special rate. We will be back!
