ホテル デ コンスル(Hotel des Consuls)

Inhospitable greeting from the owner who left our group to find our rooms in the dark and offered no help with finding food in the area after travelling all day. Rooms rather tatty ,breakfast service poor.

We arrived on our bikes to a warm welcome from the host who let us put them in his garage. There is little hotel accommodation in the area and the hotel was quite full - booking is a good idea. The building is ancient and the rooms a bit quirky, with several overlooking an internal courtyard. I would recommend not overlooking the main square, especially in high season, which can be noisey. My only negative is that breakfast was a little lacking in excitement.

A lovely property in a beautiful setting. I will recommend any travel this hotel.

I reserved two "chambres simples" for two guests in a much anticipated four night stay in a quaint hotel. When I arrived i discovered that one of the rooms was booked only for two nights. The good news was that the manager did find a room with a view for the last two nights. The real disappointment came when I saw the bill, which included a price for 4 nights in a "room with great comfort." Instead of being charged 66 euros per night I was charged 107 euros per night for a room that might have qualified as "great comfort" at the time Van Gogh and Gauguin stayed in Arles. The only difference between the double bed room at 66 euros and the room at 107 euros was that the latter had three single beds, one of which was a dead ringer for the bed in Van Gogh's "The Artist's Bedroom." The two chairs were also from that era and, because one of them did have arm rests, I guess that qualified it as an armchair. At least Van Gogh's bedroom had a table. Our rooms did not even have that, which I had anticipated for the rock bottom priced room. For the room with great comfort, my travelling companion and I had to use one of the beds as a table. Did we feel ripped off? Yes we did.

Lieu magnifique impossible de ne pas s’y arrêter pour se restaurer une cuisine excellente autant pour les petites que les grandes faims et un accueil des plus sympathique ! La bonne humeur est communicative Merci pour ce moment fort agréable

Merci beaucoup aux propriétaires pour l’accueil chaleureux et leurs précieux conseils sur la région. L’hotel est dans une splendide bâtisse et le petit déjeuner est délicieux . Nous reviendrons à coup sur. Je rajoute que l’hotel jouxte un restaurant tout aussi agréable. Encore merci , nous reviendrons

Accueil chaleureux Chambre confortable et calme En harmonie avec ce magnifique village Rien à dire de plus ! Cet hôtel doit servir d'exemple pour d'autres établissements qui trop souvent n'offrent pas cette qualité à prix égal à leurs clients

Hôtel moyen, pas de parking, literie planche en bois. Par contre, un atout incroyable, un restaurant exceptionnel sur place, une cuisine délicieuse, un chef au top et à un prix très correct. Je recommande ce restaurant exceptionnel !

Hôtel d'un charme sensationnel: ses vieilles pierres omniprésentes, ses chambres toutes différentes, sa piscine (attention, trop petite pour nager) avec vue village et plaine, sa terrasse de petit-déjeuner, on est en cohérence avec l'atmosphère de ce village de Castenau-de-Montmiral. Accueil souriant, disponible, prévenant. Le tout évoque quelques relais châteaux.... pour une gamme tarifaire de 70 à 130 euros ce jour du 18 août 2023. Amateurs de petit-déjeuners un brun déçus par le faible choix et le café. Attention, chambres non climatisées. Allez-y !
