Netball weekend!! Netball was absolutely fantastic just a real shame about the staff. Being told to be quiet in the bar at 9pm. The lady at the restaurant checking you in was so abrupt. No kettle in the room so went to get a cup of tea in the morning and was told you couldn’t take it back to the room. Such a shame as the netball was really good. The hotel should maybe re think about allowing netball tournaments to happen here.

Stayed here for a netball weekend. Hotel is lovely and clean, was pleasant and nice (room cards were touch and go though). Staff however, were rude from the off! Constant nagging for room cards or drinks card, moaning when entering the restaurant. Can’t possible play volleyball in the pool either. Life guard told us off for that. It was like there was ‘no fun allowed’ policy. Was ok at first to overlook but it was so constant we preferred to go out of the hotel. Also, one pillow provided is not enough. Pack your own guys!

Let's start with the positives. Juan in the lobby was wonderful and did his best to assist us in every way. The people there should get metals for working there, I can imagine their days can be really hard. The lady who cleaned our room was so nice and polite. There were always sunbeds available by the pool, the hotel is very close to the beach. The food was ok for a few meals but you get sick of it pretty soon. Negatives. No mini fridge in the room, rented one for 5 EUR per day and had to get a new one because it didn't cool properly. No coffeemaker in the room. Drinking water only available in the dining area or if you buy it in a machine. Coffee only available in the morning in the dining area. The hotel was really run down, old and the rooms ugly. The tiles were loose in the bathroom floor, soap very sp****. No peeping hole on the door or extra safety lock. The air conditioner broke 2 times in the whole hotel this week and it was very hard to sleep. We got a fan to be able to be in the room. The keycards to open the door very often did not work. One from the group had to go down from the forth floor to the front desk several times a day to fix the card and sometimes it didn't even work straight after fix. The grass around the pool was very thin or not excisting in some big spots. The tiles outside were some broken and the mini golf old and broken (2 holes closed).

I have stayed at the Surf Mar on many occasions. The staff in reception welcome you with a smile and are very helpful throughout the stay. The hotel is situated in a bay and is close to all amenities. The restaurant is very spacious with a variety of food to suit all tastes ,Fresh meat and fish are cooked in the restaurant by lovely chefs. The polite and helpful staff clear your tables as soon as you have finished. Moving into the bar where there is entertainment throughout the day. This is managed by the very pleasant bar manager Rubin who has some excellent staff working very hard.... BUT the member of staff that exceeds all expectations of entertainment is Jordi... Where does he get his energy from???? He works extremely hard and is so good at what her does, from running aerobics, to board games. rifle shooting, line dancing and has such a wonderful persona. Always has a smile and interacts with all ages in the most professional way. He works endlessly keeping the public happy. Jordi is loved by all who have the pleasure to know him. Had a fantastic Karaoke night. Jordi never change,,,,

Not a nice greeting from reception… I need confirmation that you have booked here! You must send me the email! Anyway…. After overcoming that lovely welcome we went to our room… Hardly 4 stars! Room 445 was located next to the lift and after many tries to open the door ..my Husband went back down to reception and was told …you need to be quick putting the card in! Luckily the cleaning lady Ruchi was there & showed us how to open the door. After gaining entry we were very disappointed by the room… so many marks on the walls.. and to top it off … a bath with a shower over! Cracked tiles & black grout & rust marks. The smell of urine was terrible! We decided to ask at reception for a room with a shower but we’re told… ask in the morning.. we are very busy! Did not even look on the computer let alone care. Off we went to have a look around and have a drink…. The all inclusive cocktail menu is a joke! It comes out of a machine and tastes awful.. no fruit on it .. just a straw! The beer was nice and very welcome! The bar staff are very friendly and try their best to make you feel welcome, but no one could have prepared us for the amount of dogs in prams and the noise…… We are dog lovers and have 2 of our own but never seen anything like this. The food in the restaurant at night was good with a very wide choice but not very warm, there is a microwave should you choose to heat it up. The breakfast had the worst bacon we have ever eaten… and the beans were really cold! Oh well… toast and continental will suffice. We returned to our room to find it had been cleaned by Ruchi who saw us and asked if everything was ok when we said about the smell of urine she said Yes I know… it’s better now.. and it was! So we decided to stay in that room and not bother asking at reception. The room continued to be as clean as was possible and we were always asked if we needed anything so we were pleased with Ruchi. I do have to mention the hard working restaurant staff too and a lovely lady called Gemma pointed us in the right direction of many things that we couldn’t find at first, the man called Segu who filled up all the trays of food was really friendly and always had a smile on his face… which means a lot and is so nice to see. The pool area was nice with loads of sun beds always available, and the tables were always cleared. Before you book at this hotel… if you like it quiet … this is not the place for you.. I don’t think they have ever heard of soft door closures, and you can actually hear the people in the bathroom next door through the walls! When they go to the toilet.. you know! All in all… it’s not the hotel for us and I know I booked a budget room.. but 4 stars! Really!

There’s a huge security issue at this hotel. They will give replacement room key cards to anyone who asks for one without any checks, not even a name. The property is no where near a 4 star. No kettle or drinks, very thin towels, repetitive food, grounds not kept nicely. The rooms are very basic, very dated and worn out. You couldn’t have a bath due to the filler in the bath and around the plug holes. The showers do not stay up. In one room a wall lamp was hanging off the wall. However, they were clean. But didn’t look it due to how worn they were. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Dinner was ok, but repetitive. Lots of Spanish food, which we enjoyed, but for the picky eaters you’d struggle. No typical ‘kids corner’ pizza/chicken nuggets etc. Although it was tasty, I couldn’t do a week of it. Had lunch one day, was pretty much the same as dinner. Kids joined in a couple of things when we were at the hotel and although it was mostly in Spanish the staff were welcoming. It’s in a nice location across from the beach and a few cocktail bars. But if you’re wanting to go find more of a nightlife it’s a trek up and down some big hills.

The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious with great air conditioning. The food is good with lots of variety. The bar staff work really hard and are friendly. Came for a netball weekend and was very impressed however there were a couple of small issues. There were school trips with children aged around 9-14 I would guess running riot in the evening into the early hours- no staff controlling the situation and no hotel staff intervened. They did this on the Friday and Saturday but on the Sunday when they had left my friends weren’t even allowed to sit in the bar area or outside after about 2330 as a security guard told them they weren’t allowed. The children were loud and had no manners and if I was here on a family holiday I would have been thoroughly dissatisfied- I appreciate this isn’t the hotels fault but they did absolutely nothing about it. The children were loud in the dining area and made eating a nice meal quite unbearable. Will come back with the netball tour but wouldn’t come on a family holiday because of the other clientele.

Lovely hotel, we spent 6 days here with 2 kids (aged 10 and 12). Our room was well cleaned, bed made, towels changed EVERYDAY which was perfect. All staff in the hotel, especially restaurant, bar, kids club- are so friendly and polite, they all made us feel very welcomed. Hotel area, pool very lovely, clean with relaxing palm trees, sunbeds always awailable, lots to do for kids, lots of activities. Location was so perfect by the beach, our kids love snorkeling and Fenal beach was best place in the area for diving, lots of colorful fish, octopuses, amazing! Food at hotel was very good, we were half board, great variety, healthy, fresh mediterranean cousine. Dinner on Saturday was the best! soo fancy and delicious! Our room on the 4th floor was very quiet and comfortable, with good aircon. Overall a very good experience. Now the tiny downside from us: SMOKING SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON BACONIES ! (ash trays are provided and it means you allow people to smoke, this should be changed as it is really disturbing for non smokers and kids, also please make separate areas for smokers on the outdoor restaurant and pool, this will be greatly appreciated by non smokers :-) Anyway we will be back for sure, see you soon xxx best wishes from Polish/English family

The stay was good overall. We enjoyed the pool and activities inside the hotel such as the mini golf, gaming area, poolside games. The proximity to the beach was good. What could improve was setting breakfast times to avoid the queues in the morning, we were asked to eat at the bar but the bar sent us back as they were full. I would suggest making sure the availability in the bar is better when sending guests to the bar and that there is sufficient food setup. The air-conditioning in the room takes a long time to cool the room but was sufficient if started during the day for a comfortable evening sleep.

Hotel en primera línea de playa. Como muchos hoteles del Mediterráneo es más un tres estrellas que un cuatro. El personal muy amable en todo momento, y siempre nos atendieron con una sonrisa. Nuestra habitación con vista lateral al mar era bastante amplia. Con una cama grande y cómoda. En general muy limpio. Pienso que un lavado de cara tampoco le iría mal. El bufete amplio y en general bueno, aunque en estos sitios al final siempre se repiten las cosas. Sin duda una buena opción.

El hotel, al menos las habitaciones de la cuarta planta, están en mal estado. Rodapiés que faltan, puertas de una calidad ínfima, con picaportes que no funcionan, bidé suelto, grifo de lavabo que se mueve, en fin, un pequeño desastre. Le pongo tres * porque el personal es muy bueno, amable y eficiente, y el servicio de comedor puede ser notable.

Hotel accogliente e in una posizione molto strategica, a pochi metri dal mare con piscina privata. Buffet abbondante, con molte scelte e di qualità. Alla reception Joel molto gentile e disponibile ci aiutato in ogni nostra difficoltà, la sera in una sala bar c’è sempre organizzato un evento diverso, speso di musica dal vivo

Hotel difícil de valorar ya que hay habitaciones reformadas y otras no. Nosotros tuvimos la suerte de ser de las renovadas, nuestros amigos no y se quejaron mucho. La nuestra: amplia, cómoda, mucha luz, daba a la piscina no al mar, la cama amplia pero el colchón mal. El baño reformado, amplio, ducha muy buena, quizás faltara algo de luz. Las instalaciones del hotel en general muy bien, y la playa a la salida del hotel. El pueblo queda un poco separado, a veinte minutos pero hay autobús. La comida estuvo bien y la atención del personal fue muy buena. Repetiría si me garantizaran una habitación renovada.
