However, we would like to clarify a number of inaccuracies.During our conversations, you stated yourself that you did not remember where you had last left your laptop. While we understand how distressing it is to realise an item is missing, this means we could not establish that it had been stolen from the hotel.As requested, we provided you with the room access records. We also explained to you on several occasions that, in line with our security and data protection policies, CCTV footage cannot be shown to guests. CCTV can only be released to the police following the appropriate legal process and with written authorisation from our General Manager. This policy exists to protect the privacy and security of all our guests and staff and is applied consistently without exception.Every guest room is equipped with a safe, and we encourage all guests to store valuable belongings, including laptops, passports and other high-value items, securely whenever they leave their room.Our team also advised you multiple times that if you believed a theft had occurred, you should report the matter to the police. We made it clear that we would fully cooperate with any official police investigation and provide any information lawfully requested.Finally, we must also clarify that during your visit to reception you became very confrontational and shouted at members of our team despite these explanations being provided repeatedly. Our staff remained professional throughout and continued to offer the appropriate assistance within the limits of our policies and legal obligations.We appreciate that this has been a frustrating situation, but we cannot agree with the suggestion that the hotel failed to cooperate.
