Plus points are plus rooms are good quality, laid out well, good decor, good showers and comfy beds. Includes a coffee pod machine that produces warm espresso (not hot enough for how I like it personally). Good location in belsize park between Camden (18 mins walk) and Hampstead (10 min walk). There's a few Gail's and bakeries dotted around and a couple of supermarkets (m&s food and Kavanaghs - similar to Waitrose). Cleanliness is fairly good although I found a large toenail in the bed on night one in room 522. Honestly nearly threw up!! I can only assume it clawed itself into the duvet material during the wash. The duvet was clean and the rest of the room was spotless! Just a spot of bad luck so didn't complain about it. Negative points however are we found the air con to do odd things such as turn itself on from being completely OFF in the night and reset to 23.5°c and literally boil us in our sleep. It was so disturbing we ended up turning it off again and keeping our eye on it staying off. My husband has nocturnal epilepsy so he had seizures. It was awful - I was so panicked. I was slick with sweat everywhere trying to work out what had gone on until I realised it was blasting at full power with full fans the hottest possible air into the room at 2.45am! Also avoid the food in the restaurant, it's straight from the freezer like airplane food and they charge £13 a pop for it. We lived on take out and that got very lame very quick so please consider a rental property with a kitchen if you need to be here a few days, or a Roomzzz room or something with more features. You don't even get a fork or knife in these rooms so have fun trying to cut a bit of bread up or something 😔 The second lift was out our entire stay, meaning one was serving the entire hotel which meant a lot of waiting around. Call them first to check if you have any issues with walking because it was very offensive to be waiting so long. Five out of six days the second lift was out of order and with five floors that could be a challenge for some. Staff are so so in my opinion. A couple were nice but they all seem a bit fed up and angry. I also needed to leave two days early and they just kept myoney, didn't offer any support. I know that can be standard but £288 lost is tight I think.
