We have been regular visitors to this resort for many years and I can say that the accommodation and food were the worst in all the years we have been coming here. The Lopar area is a perfect beautiful nature, a perfect sandy beach, services, everything OK except for slightly overpriced restaurants on the beach, especially Porto. This year we stayed at the Veli Mel hotel, the first time and certainly the last. We have stayed in other hotels in the resort in the past but this was probably the worst hotel in terms of value for money, such as the cheaper Rab and Sahara hotels. The hotel was far from the beach, unlike the cheaper hotel, the rooms were the same as the cheaper hotel, but they had a balcony with seating and an elevator. Those were the only differences. The room was reasonably large but very poorly cleaned. Although the towels were changed and the garbage was thrown out, the floor was permanently dirty from sand even after cleaning. Sitting on the balcony could not be used, because the neighbors below us were constantly smoking and it was not pleasant for us. The biggest problem was the noise from the air conditioner. There was an old air conditioning unit in the room, which was very noisy and you couldn't sleep with it, so we couldn't even use it. in the immediate vicinity of the hotel there was a large outdoor unit of air conditioning (probably for all hotels), which ran non-stop 24 hours a day and was incredibly noisy. So we couldn't close the balcony and turn on the indoor air conditioning because it was noisy, so we had to ventilate, but it was impossible to sleep either, because the outdoor air conditioning was constantly humming. But what is inexcusable and it didn't happen even in the cheaper Rab/Sahara hotel - there was no WIFI signal in the entire Veli Mel hotel, only on the ground floor in the lobby. In other hotels, the internet was also available in the rooms, but not here. No one pointed this out and the reception just shrugged their shoulders that it was just the way it was. However, the environment of the hotel park is nice, well maintained, clean and one feels comfortable there. The parking lot is large with sufficient capacity. Restaurant - a chapter in itself ... . Breakfast still the same, compared to the past most of the time pate was missing (they were available until the end of the stay) and triangular spreadable cheeses and feta cheese, which were commonly available in the past, were not available at all. Drinks available as usual, but many times it happened that syrups were missing in the post-mix and people had to drink very diluted drinks. Dinners - the worst I have experienced at this resort. Food definitely prepared sometime before lunch and then just reheated. Meat dry, hard, tasteless (the only exception was grilled chicken legs), soups weakly seasoned and broths sometimes very oily, dishes with sauces quite well seasoned but meat mostly overcooked. Children were often playing and running around the lobby area unattended. They were also running up and down the stairs and in the hallways making a lot of noise.

Location is the only thing that was great. Outdated rooms and smelly elevator and halls at the Veli Mel hotel. The quality of food was poor and always the same selection of food. It is a 2 star hotel at most.

Everything in the room is great, but only thing that was missing is the fridge, staff at the restoran is very kindly but the food can be better... Lopar is great place for family with kids especially because of the beach

Nice place for famillies! Staff is very friendly and always willing to help. They answered all our requests very quickly. Food is good however I would have preffered more choices for the breakfast and dinner meals. Beach is very nice perfect for children and it's just a 2 minutes walk from Plaza Family Hotel where we stayed. Rooms are cleaned everyday. I would higly recommed Valamar as an holiday option!

The resort has about 4-5 hotels aligned one next to another, we stayed at Hotel Plaža which is right above the Rajska Plaža (Paradise Beach) and you are 1-2 minutes slide from a beach. Also, the resort restaurant is also right above the Hotel Plaža. If you have small kids, this is really ideal place for you. Beach is great for kids, you have 20-30cm of depth up to 50-60m (at least) from going in the sea so the kids would love it, as were ours. You do not have to be afraid to leave kids out of sight for 5 seconds because they really do not have anywhere to go, the beach is really great, just like in the movies. Room was great. Air conditioner works great so do not be afraid it would be hot like in some hotels. Restaurant has a real wide spread of all kinds of food, but I must say that in our 6 day stay we did not have the opportunity to experience grill because there was none, but this did not affect our stay at all. One thing that really is noticable is the warmth of a hotel staff, polite communication with a everyday smile on their face. We noticed that a lot of people are mentioning this in a reviews, but we needed to experience this hospitality, really. This is 10 out of 10. When the day came when we had to leave, we forgot a Iphone charger in our room. We wrote the same day to the hotel staff and they traced it and sent it to us by mail. No words here, just grateful to be guests in the hotel like Hotel Plaza. Toilets and rooms extremely clean, no noise in hotel at all. Because of the prices on the Croatian Adriatic Sea coast we said we wont go on the Croatian cost no more so we were going in Turkey for the last 5 years, but San Marino Sunny Resort really surprised us all and we think we will definitely be returning here at some point. This is a dream for a whole family rest. 5 star!

Comfortable bed. Fine buffet and the beach is extremely great. Room could be a bit bigger but they pay close attention to cleaning. The hotel is on top of a hill but there is a way without stairs too, but it is not barrier-free to the hotel, for that maybe Plaza is recommended.

I am working in the hotel business and I have to say, this hotel including service, restaurant, reception and all around, is on top class. Any problem is resolved immediately, and believe me there are not many problems because whole personal is simply delivering to the guests the best experiences. It is important to mention two extraordinary persons. The receptionist Antonio, someone like this person having in any company is simply like to hit the jackpot in lottery. Friendly, professional, communicative, always with cold head when sorting the difficulty. I am writing this because we were group of 18, everyone different type of arrivals, needed to split the bills, change the rooms or anything, simply cannot say a bad word. On the other hand, my mum has is slide disability and the manager Katarina stepped in and immediately made everything possible to accommodate my mum's disability with the greatest respect and attention. There fore, if you think to go or not to the Valamar San Marino resort, I strongly recommend this choice. Not even to mention the quality of the accomodation and meal, of something is not at the table, you may simply ask and the personal will do all they can to fulfill your wishes. Ideal vacation for youngsters, family, groups, older couples and simply everyone. Thank you and special thank you one more time to Antonio and Katarina and whole personal.

If we count proprtly - it is our 8th time in your hotels in Lopar. As always everything was perfect - that is why we come back here every year. It could be good if the receptions were opened on (all) June, because there was a lot of people who came and did not to do when reception was empty.
