Stayed 2 nights at the hotel while in LA, mainly to visit Universal Studios. It was right off a highway, which was convenient for driving to restaurants and other stops. We did not walk to Universal, but chose to drive. It would have felt like a very long walk on the way back, so that was the right choice.
In the reviews I read they had free breakfast, but that is not offered, although there is an area where it obviously once was offered. The hotel seems dated, but also has a funky/cool vibe, so it was mostly OK.
The pool area could use a refresh. And there were no towels, so when we asked, the front desk clerk said we had to bring them from our room. But the next night we saw people swimming, and they clearly had hotel pool towels. Who knows…
Parking is wonky, but OK. Not worth the $25/night I would argue.
Overall, for LA, the price seemed fair, and the room was decent. No complaints and would generally recommend it. Not much to do right in the area, so if you want a hotel with lots around to walk to and see, this would not be for you.
