Had an issue with a quoted rate that I reserved with over the phone with Courtyard Direct. I went to check in and they changed the rules on our quoted price. Not happy. We opened up a complaint case not only for that, but also RUDE behavior from the front desk worker. Eye rolls, and talking over customers must be part of the training there? Terrible etiquette as a CSR. Also, my room’s sofa looked like it just got brought in from a frat party at UW, the hot tub had more sand in it than Lake Superior, and the TV wouldn’t work until I traded in the remote. Courtyard is usually pretty good, and I’m a member with marriott bonvoy. Probably gonna chalk this up to a couple rough employees, who need some training in customer service. Madison Wi is great, Courtyard Madison East is not.

Overpriced for what you get. Rooms are small for the price, but well designed. The trouble is in the details. Filth in the enclosure where the very small fridge is housed. Inability to slide the TV out and point it toward the bed due to insufficient clearances. Grips on the elliptical in the gym left black residue on my hands which required GoJo to remove. Paid breakfast with pre-prepared items and limited vegetarian options, no complimentary breakfast, preparer of food was less than helpful. Not a happy experience overall.

Shout out to Courtyard East in Madison! Very nice hotel, great service overall, very clean, quiet rooms, spacious room BTW! Special shoutout to Rachel and the very charming Alan for their friendly and much appreciated service in the lounge/Bistro area. Food in the Bistro was actually pretty tasty!

Do not expect to sleep well here if needed. The outdoor bar section is right under many if the front units with people chirping past 11pm. The interior room and amenities are standard for a marriot.

Traveled as a couple age 68 & 65 going to Wisconsin Dells. After the drive, we arrived tired and hungry. When we walked in, we were greeted by Megan at the front desk. She had the biggest welcoming smile, and her energy was contagious. We were checked in really fast and in the room with in about 10 minutes. The room was super clean, the sun was coming in the window and the room was so nice. It was the 1ST place we ever stayed in the US that had a Welcoming note from the woman that cleaned the room and towel art. We had a Swan on the tub and the counter. Even the Kleenex box had a Swan made from Kleenex! We liked the room and the service from Megan so much that we went down and booked again for a stay on the return trip home. The pool area was also very clean. We spent time in the hot tub which was really nice and then ordered from the Bristo. I don't remember the man's name but he made the best Flat Bread and made us 2 - 1/2 Ceasar Salads that were really good. the entire meal was under $25 and we didnt have to go out. I highly recommend staying here.
