I was robbed because of the hostel staff. I arrived when the room hadn't prepared yet. So I asked a man at the reception if I could leave my backpack and come back later. He showed me the room in front of the reception desk where I can leave my luggage. I left my backpack in that room, but when I returned in the evening I found my backpack open, and all my things were in disarray. And when I asked a girl at the reception how this could happen, she answered that there is a luggage storage room in the hostel, and I shouldn’t have left my backpack there. I described the man who told me to leave my backpack in that room and she said that he doesn't work for the hostel, but he works in the same building. But he had access to the hostel's system, as he asked for my passport and checked my data in the system. After that incident I started getting scammers' messages and calls. I've tried to get an explanation from the manager, but it seems they really don't care about it at all. They refused that it could happen but also rejected to provide the camera recordings, so it means something. Another girl was also robbed in the next room. This is definitely not a safe place to stay. It was cold in the room, dirty showers and sinks, super unfriendly staff, very noisy, you have to pay extra for everything(towels, lockers, etc.) I have never had such a terrible experience.

This is more hotel than hostel There are no cooking facilities or places for food storage. Food is prohibited in the rooms. The staff are efficient but not very friendly. On the plus side it is immaculately clean, comfortable and spacious. But our reason for choosing a hostel is because you can make a snack and meet people. There is a rooftop bar which would be lovely in warmer weather and there is a restaurant area where breakfast is served.

They allowed me to check in early because they could tell that I was extremely tired from my long flight. I will be booking them again in my next trip to Madrid.

I had a very comfortable and spacious room with two beds. The price was reasonable, and I didn't mind the shared bathroom. It's worth noting that the rooms in the front of the building can be a tad noisy with traffic from the street, but it wasn't too bad. My biggest concern was that the internet seemed slow and unreliable, constantly cutting out on both of my phones and my laptop, so I had to go to a co-working space down the block in order to get any work done.

I really liked the hostel and would definitely come back! I was there for three nights and only used it to sleep, but as far as i know they have a great variety of options for people who want to party a bit. I stayed in a room in the first floor and didn’t hear anything from the party on the rooftop, all good. The staff is very kind and helpful. The only thing that I kinda missed is a chill out area on the rooftop during the day. The view is amazing but it is more for parties since at night the bar is open. Would be amazing to be able to read a book or have a cup of coffee or something there during the day as well. Even as a work place it would be great. Overall I really liked the hostel, the neighbourhood is amazing too.

Liked the aesthetic of the hotel, the experienced staff, the safety, the tidiness... Everything about "Safestay" was great, I couldn't ask for a better experience ! It's a perfect place for a great first experience in Spain !

A great hostel for the price in a perfect area. Footsteps from the subway and waking distance to most major attractions. I was surprised they even made up my room during the day. Disappointed no soap or cups provided in the room and the air conditioning could not be controlled by me in my room even though I was in a private room. Despite this fact, it only got too cold for me once.

A few things could have been better. Firstly, A/C did not work for 6 of 7 day stay making it hard to sleep. Sometimes crowds going to the terrace gather making it difficult to get to your room. No kitchen. Cramped rooms. Overall though, it is very good for the price. Rooms/Bathrooms are clean and in quite decent condition. The number of showers per floor was appreciated as well. Most staff speak English. Excellent location. Staff gave good advice. Staff are friendly.
