Hotel Larios Málaga

Wat een fijn hotel Erg schoon de hele dag door gepoetst en een mooie roof top bar

Very nice staff, we got a free room upgrade and the room was incredible.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay in a junior suite. The hotel is perfectly located with everything you need accessible on foot. The staff were very friendly, giving us a warm welcome. We had arrived earlier than planned and yet they had the room ready for us to check-in straight away. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff had arranged for a thoughtful gift and card to be in the room when we arrived. We would love to return to Malaga and will definitely book Larius when we do.

Please note that you CANNOT drive to this hotel; it's located in a pedestrian only part of town. Not a huge issue as it is close to streets where you CAN drive, but we didn't discover this until we had driven through an area where we shouldn't have. The hotel is an absolute delight - clean, stylish, well-kept, and ideally located. Not only would we recommend it to others, we will stay there again. We enjoyed cocktails at the rooftop bar with a wonderful view out over the city and of the cathedral. The breakfast was also very nice. Really the only criticism I have is with check-in. Malaga was the last (of five) cities we visited while in Spain. In each location before Malaga we found hotels check-ins to be a slow process because passport information had to be collected. As an experienced international traveler, I am accustomed to this when traveling in many countries outside the USA. We we were pleasantly surprised when we got an email offering us the opportunity to "pre-check-in" by providing passport and other registration information in advance. Less than reliable cellular connections and completing the required information on our phones was cumbersome, but I do remember thinking: "Wow! This hotel gets it!" Except they don't! When we arrived at the hotel, we showed the woman at reception the confirmation emails we had received (which said we only needed to collect our keys). She was unyielding and insisted she needed our passports. Big disappoin**ent.

The hotel was very clean, the staff was very nice and the location was excellent; many essential places in Malaga were within just a walking distance. The room was very nice, too. All in all the athmosphere inside the hotel was peaceful and the mood was chill. The only thing I imagine might bother some guests - and it didn't bother us too much - is that the promenade underneath our window always remained somewhat noisy until the early hours of the morning.

My apartment room at Hotel Larios was in a complete different building that was a little more difficult getting to with lots of luggage (some stairs to get to elevator). Rooms are directly on busy Constitution Square and are very noisy. But that added to the charm of the location. Easy to walk from hotel to Picasso Museum and Alcazar and Marina

Right in the center of Malaga. Excellent location. Close to everything you need to have a great time in Malaga.

A really nice neighborhood and a nice hotel, but unfortunately at least the room on the 4rt floor what we stayed in seemed to suffer from some kind of a moisture issue - perhaps even mold...The air was very heavy, and the smell was quite strong, and it did not go away even if we kept the windows open and the AC on. Our stay was short, so we did not have time to make any replacing arrangements, but if the reservation would have any longer, we would definitely have asked for another room or perhaps moved to another hotel. The feedback was given to the reception, and they promised they would check this.
