We have just got back from 11 nights in May, 3 adults & 1 child aged 4 with autism. We found the outside grounds, pools, beach & bars very nice. Everything was so well kept, very clean & very tidy! Huge pool with lots of other little pools for smaller children too, our only gripe with the pools which can’t be helped was how cold they were. We know it’s early season but the water was that cold our little one wouldn’t even go in, every day was a battle due to the cold temperature even though it was 37c the water was still freezing. Our room wasn’t the best, it felt dated & lots of wear & tear to it which was surprising given it was the start of the season. The air con was non existent, the room seemed to get cool in the front area where our son slept but baking hot in our area/family area. We did report this to reception as soon as we got into our room which they said someone would come (no body ever did) we then requested a fan in stead but they don’t have any. The shower also was hit & miss with functions not working properly, smells coming from main drain & the shower screen leaking so badly we would get through two or more towels a day soaking up the water. Beds were comfortable & mattresses appeared to be new, balcony didn’t exist just a sliding door looking out onto a building site. Food & drink was plenty however never hot. Some nights we did struggle to make a full plate of something as it seemed the majority of foods was aimed at Eastern European guest with lots of stews ect…. Service the first few days felt non existent especially in the main restaurant no offer of drinks, no friendly chat with the staff. A week on & we did notice as the hotel was getting busier the staff started to interact more & become more helpful offering drinks extra we did find you have to tip if you wanted to get special or attentive service. One main annoyance we found was all the hidden charges for “extras” which in our experience every other hotel we have stayed in has come as standard such as: Iron in your room, full use of WiFi (only 2 devices worked meaning one of us had to pay or use phone data, kettle in your room, mini bar to have other than water, fresh orange juice at breakfast, certain drinks from the bar, use of beach cabanas, all water sports (usually have to pay for motorised but they all came at a cost), tennis, certain ice creams, trampolines ect. Also the hotel shop was an absolute rip off! The prices they were trying to charge guests was actually disgusting! We wanted a blow up float for the pool for our son, he chose one (wasn’t priced) took it to the till & he wanted £110 for it! We found the same float at the market priced at £15, also the snacks were well over priced too, it actually worked out cheaper to get a taxi into town, buy what you wanted & get a taxi back than to pay their prices. Hotel shops are usually more expensive but never the prices here, the hotel its self needs to look into this as many guests were complaini
