I arrived in the hotel lobby at 2:51 PM following a five hour car ride. There was a girl behind the desk greeted me by holding up three fingers.
When I asked her what that meant, she said "Check-in isn't until 3:00. You'll have to wait".
I sat and waited the nine minutes and as I walked to check-in, promptly at 3:00, the same girl looked at the clock before coming over to help me. I guess 3:00 check-in really means 3:00 check-in!!
As she took my ID to start the process the phone rang and she proceeded to help the person make a reservation over the phone.
After about four minutes another woman approached the desk and I asked her if she could please take over my check in. I just wanted to get to my room. She was very kind and did so willingly.
So to say that my first impression was not a good one, is an understatement.
I finally made it to my room and while the accommodations were very nice, the floors were sticky. But luckily I always pack socks.
I easily found a number of choices for a nice dinner. All within a very short distance.
When I came back to the hotel other guests told me that from 5 to 7, the hotel offers free beer and wine and hot bar snacks. That was nice (I feel that was information to be told during check in and not hear from other guests).
The hotel was very quiet, which made sleeping easy. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast the next morning was grand! Vast options.
