ホテル マイリンゲン(Hotel Meiringen)

Meiringen is a lovely little town - not too small nor too large. We liked the ambience of the place. The train ride from Interlaken Ost takes 30mins to reach Meiringin and the views are absolutely gorgeous esp once it goes towards Brienz. We made the right decision staying at Hotel Meiringin (4 June to 13 June) as it has a fantastic location just opp the train station and an attached Restaurant Bahnholfi which made it most convenient for dinner. Modern design without losing the warmth and coziness with a great deal of wood in the decor. The welcome extended to us by the Front Desk is what true service really is all about. Eva was there when we arrived and she is such a gem! Pauline the “boss” is very hospitable as was her daughter Marlene. All 3 of them made us feel so at home during the 9N and any request or enquiry was met with a sincere desire to assist us whenever possible. Service at its finest! Our rooms with a balcony had a nice view of the cliffs and the station. There was totally no issue with noise from the train station opposite as the windows are very well insulated. The Double Room with balcony on the 3F was just nice for us. Nice basket of tea and some cookies, snacks including a lovely packet of yummy meringue. We were able to request for a flask of hot water at the reception which we could bring to the room daily. The bathroom is nicely laid out and overall cleanliness is very good. Just be a little careful in the shower area where it may be a little slippery when wet. We wished the water pressure was stronger tho. Other than that, everything was more than adequate. Excellent Strong wifi. Our visit was in the early June and the weather was lovely at 8-24 degrees. There is no aircon but they had a standing fan. Enjoyed the breakfast spread (7am till 9:30am) which filled us up to start the day. Good quality ham, bread, croissants, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, cereal, juice. The coffee from the machine was good. They were kind enough to top up items when requested. The staff Lea and Jessica were friendly and helpful, not so the older one with the frazzled hair. We had dinner at the attached restaurant Bahnhofli (the huge strappy friendly chef is the boss of the restaurant and husband of Pauline at the front desk). I will do a separate review on the restaurant. A wonderful 9N stay and so appreciative of the welcoming spirit from Pauline, Eva and Marlene.

Friendly reception on arrival and very convenient location right at the train station. Good Italian restaurant downstairs too. Nice modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Noise from outside was a little loud with the windows open but it quieted down later. Would stay here again when visiting Meiringen.

We were lucky to book this hotel. The staff were great, the rooms were clean and nice. We would stay here again for sure.

We spent one night as we hiked along the Via Alpina— coming from Engstlenap , and on our way to Schwarzwaldalp. The woman who checked us in (owner?) was just lovely, so warm and helpful. Immediately gave us some local tips about the town and our hike ahead. The room was clean and modern, with nice design touches like two mid-century leather chairs, a plant, and a tall rotating fan (which helped because it was HOT!!). She also offered free passes to a local gym, which my son used. We ate at the hotel restaurant- delicious wood fired pizza. There was a concert in the town square at night- very festive and fun to walk around. Just walking the streets as the sun set, And getting the view of the surrounding mountains, was beautiful! Breakfast was delicious- great coffee (espresso/cappuccino machine was self serve), croissants and traditional meusli, cheese and meats. Loved this hotel- highly recommend!

Peaceful Town and nice staff

Wir waren wieder im Hotel Meiringen. Für uns das Nummer 1 Hotel! Die Zimmer sehr sauber, gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Frau Brüggemann von der Rezeption unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend. So möchte man ankommen. Das Essen qualitativ top, die Mitarbeiter im Restaurant super freundlich und professionell. Das Interieur des Hotels und des Restaurants sehr geschmackvoll und sehr gemütlich. Danke Frau Brügger, für das Upgrade des Zimmers fürs Geburtstagskind und die liebevolle Geburtstagsdeko sowie die persönlichen Worte. Schöner könnte man seinen Geburtstag nicht verbringen. Ein ganz großes Dankeschön, Ihr arbeitet alle mit Herz! Wir kommen wieder.

Modern und gemütlich renoviertes Hotel beim Bahnhof Meiringen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und angenehm. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Ebenfalls lohnt sich der Besuch in der Pizzeria im Haus. Wir haben fein gegessen. Als wir spontan eine Nacht während einer Wanderung verlängerten , bekamen wir ein Upgrade in ein grosses Zimmer mit Balkon. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder dieses Hotel buchen.

Wir haben während unseres 7tägigen Aufenthalts in Meiringen (wir waren in einer anderen Unterkunft) drei Mal im Hotel Meiringen gegessen. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Wartezeit gering. Sehr zu empfehlen.
