Pleasant small hotel, well maintained with friendly staff. We ate at the restaurant one evening and it really delivered on the local specialties. The immediate area of the hotel is quiet and residential but you are a few quick blocks from Santiago park, which had food, dancing, great desserts etc

This hotel charged my credit card for smoking in the property, which I did not do. The rooms are not sealed properly to the outside so bugs and ants got into the room along with sounds and odors from the outside penetrate the room easily. The floors were dirty and dusty upon arrival. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel if you can avoid it.

Overall the hotel has an awesome look. Including the outdoor walkway to the rooms and pool. But the surface of the walkway is irregular, making it impossible to roll a suitcase. (I think staff is available to help with this, though.) And maybe a little tricky to navigate after dark or drinks. Great room including sitting room and washroom. Definitely recommend.

Mario, Jose, Wendy & Karime were excellent! We had trouble with our toilet flushing at checkin but found out just run the bathroom sink water and the pressure builds. The staff I mentioned were quick to respond to our requests and very friendly. Their onsite massages are very reasonably priced and a very nice way to unwind after a day touring. Then a few nights into our stay, after a full day of sightseeing, we returned to find brown water coming out of the sink and filling the toilet. Also all of the water pressure was gone from the shower. The staff quickly got us access to another room to shower and then we just decided to stay in that room because the water pressure was so much better. Overall the location of the hotel is in the very quiet neighborhood of Santiago It is about a one mile walk to the main town center which during the day isn’t bad but because of the poor sidewalk quality we always took a taxi or Uber when it was dark. There are also a couple nearby bars with nightly live music which were fun. Overall the hotel was worth the price we paid but we probably would look for something closer to the main square on a future visit.

One of the best hotels during my 3 weeks trip to Mexico! The room is big and clean, I love the style and furniture. The Wifi connection was great, pool a bit too hot but ok. It's 10 minutes walking from the city center, so you'll walk home after dinner in dark small streets, but I was feeling safe. Definitely recommended!

Excellent choice for all ages. We stayed as family and really enjoyed the pools, perfect destination close to the town center, safeties. Thank you. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This charming little hotel was our oasis from the heat and bustle of the city. Having a spacious room with a private little courtyard and plunge pool was heaven after enduring sweltering temperatures. The plunge pool was much cooler than the common pool. So glad we opted for the courtyard amenities-well worth the extra $! The beds were comfy, linens were crisp, bathrooms well appointed with organic shower products-not those tiny little single-use bottles. Breakfast offered traditional choices as well as Yucatanean offerings, and the service was excellent. This hotel is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and about a 10 minute walk to the nearest market. We were able to summon an Uber within 9 minutes for longer treks. If you desire a lovely, quiet, quaint haven from the hustle and noise of the city, Hotel Unknown is an excellent choice!

I was a bit hesitant booking since it seemed it was a bit far from the Centro but it turned out to be a short and easy walk. We reserved two rooms, one king room and another with the small pool outside. Both were spacious and well worth it. Everyone on staff I spoke to or were assisted by were very friendly and accommodating; they also gave us a great reference for touring Uxmal as well. It was convenient to have breakfast/dinner there too, no need to venture out. I'm definitely staying there again when visiting Merida!

Enjoyed the property! Staff was attentive, Continental breakfast was great, the room was clean and loved the colonel style. Walking distance to all the best places to visit. Thank you!
