Excellent modern hotel with huge rooms and equally huge bathroom (walk in shower and tub). Hotel staff is very friendly. We opted to have dinner at the restaurant of the hotel because the hotel is not located in the town centre and from previous dinners at a Van der Valk restaurant we knew it's always high quality. The breakfast buffet was also very nice with a huge selection of all sorts of bread, brioches, juices, eggs and spreads. I can recommend this hotel and would stay there again when visiting Middelburg.

I have travelled extensively never ever have l been told on day it was 34c the Air Conditioning was broken in our room that they had no other accommodation as hotel was booked. I explained l booked this hotel because of the air conditioning six months prior to coming due fact l have a lung disease. I was then told 15 minutes later that they did have another room two rooms down and we could move to this room reassured the A/C worked. The room was not clean the shower still had the shampoo from the prior guest. The shower, the sink, the floor with dirty, the toilet was dirty.. and the air conditioning never dropped below 23 Celsius in the room. When we reported these conditions to the front desk, they simply said they were full. And that they could give us bottle wine for the inconvenience. Clearly, they have not learned anything from Covid and clean conditions for people to stay in. After I had spent over $350 for a room with no air conditioning, and was offered a bottle wine for the deficiencies. I don’t drink. So clearly l received no compensation. Clearly the management had no interest in our health and safety.

This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful city. Great value for money.

Staying frequently at the van der Valk hotel and typically everything is ok. However, this time several things were unacceptable: Missing TV remote, plugged sink, koffee items replaced partially only and no Internet for almost 4 days. This was the worst stay ever.

The is truly one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in! The rooms are beautiful, the pool area is exquisite and the saunas, plunge pool and snow room are so unique! We loved our stay…we will be back!

The hotel rooms are perfect, huge and quite. Reception is always friendly and helpful with all the requests. Breakfast has a good selection of food and drinks. Restaurant and bar have excellent dishes and drinks. Swimming pool / spa /relaxation area are great and well equipped.

Great stay, perfect room size. I was able to do my yoga excersize as I had ample space in the room. Only down side was that the ground floor room on the backside . Hotel employees park their cars right next to room window. Sometime you concern related privacy
