Skanes Serail and Aquapark

We have gone out of season so it’s a little on the quiet side but that hasn’t made it a bad experience at all, The staff are lovely and work very hard, the animation (entertainment) team make an effort to have some form of entertainment going each night at around 9pm which is nice… the food is buffet style and there is some decent food, it’s scheduled times for the buffet so some hours with no food so you either have to time it right or buy some food elsewhere but that’s fine. It is all inclusive with free drinks until 11pm (ish), after that there is another bar located next to the parking lot which serves food like pizza and chips that is open until 3am but you do have to pay for that it’s not exactly expensive but you can rack up a bill if you are there for hours ahaha, everything seemed clean, there was a little bit of construction going on so good to see them making improvements for the future… would visit again.

All the animation group - Panda, Prince, Momo, Simba, Speedy, slouma, fahmi, monta, and doudou are an amazing team!!! Absolutely funny shows and great vibes from the whole team! Loved the hotel, activities and food. Hotel is full of friendly staff with fun shows and dances ❤️

First 3 days were spent moving into 3 different rooms because the door lock was broke , had no rooms left what i had booked so put us in a single room with no balcony and shower was dangerous as the water spills over onto floor and very slippy. Food was hit and miss some days the chicken was pink and not cooked which me and my husband both told chefs it needed to be cooked more but they didnt listen. Some days chicken was cookd and some the food was nice but due to sensory issues i am very fussy and the pizzas always had topping on them and they would not cook me a plain pizza (tomatoe sauce, cheese). The beds were uncomfortable so i asked for a extra blanket so could make the matress more comfortable ,Had 3 different workers barge in my room when i was lien on my bed relaxin they came and just turned my lights on and showed me a had blankets. 4 days before leaving the absolutley stupid cleaner left 1-2 inches of water on the stairs and i fell and sprained my knee. Requested a wheelchair which i used for 1-2 days but it was fallin apart so a didnt feel safe sitting in it. The hotel has completly lied to love holidays about the stairs being wet and saying my husband done it , this was dun after because the cleaner had quickly cleaned it up so she wouldnt get in trouble so my husband put water on the stairs AFTER for a video purpose to show how much water actually was there, the hotel lied and denied that i used thr wheelchair when i did use it and found it very distressing. They have said i was fine 2 days after the accident which another lie as I had to go for a check up at the hospital in UK as i was still in alot of pain a week after. Animatiom team were lovely the cleaner should have been sacked , if I didnt have to change rooms 3 times at start of holiday and if the cleaner didnt cause my accident the holiday wouldmt have been that bad .

The animation team at the hotel were fantastic, very engaging and friendly, The all work extremely hard and make sure you get the best of your holiday experience, They work very hard to keep everyone happy,………..,……………..,,Brilliant Team.

Overall, the hotel is ideal for a cheap and cheerful stay. However after holidaying in various countries and hotels this hotel has to be the least equipped. No mini fridge, beds are hard, the bathrooms could do with updating ASAP, and the curtains are quite old making the rooms look dark and dingy. The beach was a mess when we arrived, however this was cleaned up and was quite nice to relax on towards the end of our stay, however strangers will approach you hounding you to buy ciggies head scarves and bracelets and do not take no for a answer, security at the beach don't do anything to stop them once you have said no, so makes going down to the beach a waste of time as there isn't just 1 there is upto 6 different men. Entertainment show wise could do with being varied more, panda simba Prince and zizou where fantastic though so so friendly and I will miss them most of all. They don't cater to English food wise in the restaurant, I struggled for 8 days to find something to eat and lived on spaghetti mostly. The chicken wings were not cooked one day they was raw inside. Overall I'd give the hotel 2 stars. The aqua park was only open 2 hours a day, and the bar was quiet not even any music on whilst you sat and had a drink. With some tweaks this hotel could be so much more. Would I go back? Not at this moment in time, not enough to do there as a family. But we had a laugh and made the most of it.

Well were to start… we didnt have the best time, we went on the 17th and wasnt informed of any charity events going on so we had to rush to eat as everything was taken or we would get pushed and shoved out of the way, the group what came was so rude and arrogant, we had an issue were our son was being recorded and laughed at by these teenage children what had graduated and all that got said was ‘this is normal’ it is not normal to video a 3 year old boy. We had this for 3 days, they cut off the entertainment for these 3 days which was shocking, we paid to enjoy the entertainment. The teenagers was drinking alcohol and we was told this is normal. But it wasnt normal for us, another group then sent their teenage child and she also got served vodka and coke, when this was mentioned this was resolved and no-one other than an adult was allowed to collect any form of alcohol. The hotel rooms are beautiful, they are missing fridges and kettles which would be an absolute bonus as there isnt much cuisine for the english. We had to go into sousse and get some bits of food to keep us going. We also heard that two of the entertainment team was trying to lure a 13 and 15 year old girl into theyre rooms for s*x which we found absolutely disgusting from that moment we didnt take our eyes of our children. The entertainment manager tried to keep peace and actually put on some entertainment for us which we found amazing. Omar the pool bar staff is brilliant and deserves a pay rise, he made our holiday for us and actually tried his best to get to know us even with a language barrier, our youngest daughter decided to run off and he was the only staff member to drop what he was doing and help look for her, couldnt say a bad word about him, his omar special cocktail is delicious if you go ask for it!. The food i wouldnt touch again as it was left over from the night before and thrown in with fresh food which resulted in us having bad sickness and diarrhoea. The only people what was concerned was the entertainment manager, Wassim and Omar. Tik Tak is a nice guy, he did his very best to keep us family of 11 seated together and always tried to make sure he set a table up for us! Alot of the waiters was fishing for tips which was annoying as we tipped every night as suggested. One of our party it was her birthday there and they did make it very special for her which made our last night that little bit better. Would we return im unsure. Wassim also needs a pay rise that man was a pleasure to deal with, his first aid training was on top form he made us all happy, welcome and kept us all healthy. They was quick with the first aid which was brilliant. Be wary of your teenage girls around simba and prince!

Lovely hotel and very friendly and helpful staff, lots of choice of food. Great pool and waterside, lifeguards on duty, lots of entertainment staff, lots for kids to do, bring cash as no cashpoint here, closest is monastir airport. Really enjoyed it

The only good thing about this hotel was the entertainment team. Slides only open for 2hrs a day. Food was boring, tasteless. No cash machine. No air-con unless in the summer even though it was quite muggy at night. Drinks are boring and they display drinks they don’t do for show! Bit strange! The maids for the bedrooms were lovely, very happy and friendly. The boss of the cleaners in the lobby was always so grumpy and moody. The rooms and bathrooms could do with a little updating as the only nice looking part in the hotel is the lobby. GET NEW MATTRESSES- oh my, the mattresses were TERRIBLE, I couldn’t sleep and my back is in agony.
