A horrible experience. Booked the hotel beforehand and got a welcome email but when I got there I was told by the very rude owner that my booking was not going to happen. This is at 6 at night. I feel he might sell your booking to others on the night paying more. He is abusive and not logical.

The lack of modern decor and old furniture were the start of a disappointing stay. The bedding was clean, but old, looked tired and worn out. We felt uncomfortable to the extent we put a chair against the door of our room at night. We paid more to stay here than a host of other hotels on our road trip, such as La Quinta by Wyndham and Holiday Inn, as much as a Fairfield by Marriott which are in a different class to this place. There was no coffee making or breakfast offered.

Never, and I repeat, *never* stay at this place. Not only was the room halfway decent, the service here was the most immature, rude, condescending service I have ever experienced. Upon arriving past the time to drive in, my friend and I were approached by someone I could only assume was a manager telling us that we had to pull our car in closer. At first, this seemed like a reasonable request so my friend, whose car we drove down here, complied and got back in his car to move it forward. For some reason, though, the person working decided this was the best time to tell us how annoying it is to have to “babysit adults” because we didn’t park close enough. When my friend said that he felt uncomfortable pulling any closer to the curb since his car was new and the sensors were going off and wouldn’t let him go further, the manager thought the best course of action was to forcefully tell us that we were being difficult and that we could go further and to “ignore the sensor” of our own car. I expressed that we were fully in our space and that we weren’t taking up any more space and he complained that we were “just as bad” as the other adults he had to babysit. Completely unprofessional behavior coming my from someone I could only guess is the owner or manager of the establishment. I would not recommend coming here and, if it weren’t so late already, I would have gone somewhere else and asked for a refund. All of this to say, the low reviews that others are giving is for a reason. Avoid at all costs if possible. My advice? Spend a little more to stay at somewhere where you won’t be accosted by cigarette-smoking employees at 10:00 at night when all you want to do is go to sleep. Awful way to start a vacation.

The location is perfect! Staff were great. It is a 2 star motel. Clean room, comfortable bed, but thin walls and needs a little tlc. Clean area and safe. No coffee maker. Nearby Del Monte shopping center. Vietnamese restaurant within walking distance (excellent food).

I needed a local hotel to stay for a few days. The price and location were great. Unfortunately, the room was not great. It had old, rusted fixtures and a few items that could have been maintained better (photos included). I thought I could get comfortable with it but ended up leaving after two nights because I really didn't like the run-down appearance and because of a noisy evening from neighboring unit. The management was pleasant when I arrived but was very unhelpful whenI tried to checkout early. The other units may be nicer than the one given to me. I wish the owner/manager well.

Found this inn to be excellent. Was treated as a valued guest, owners were friendly and accommodating. Although older, my room was immaculate and the bed was super comfortable (and I am very picky). Could not have asked for a better location. Across from the mall and around the corner from the freeway on-ramp. Had both a. microwave and mini-fridge as well as a table and chairs so eating in the room was very easy. As a single female, I felt very comfortable and safe and will return whenever I go up to the Monterey area.

When I was on the hunt for a rental house, I ended up staying here for 11 days. It was a great choice! I felt like I got my money’s worth, and I was treated like a valued guest. Plus, it was the perfect place to relax during a hectic time. That’s priceless! Just what I needed. I passed by this Inn almost every day because my mom lives at the assisted living facility next door. I’d see the parking lot full in the evening and during the day, the managers and staff would be hard at work, cleaning and maintaining the charming accommodations and beautiful flowers. Little did I know that I’d need their help when the rental house nearby was sold and I had to move out. I had a many options for places close to Old Monterey along the main drag, but I chose this Inn because of the combination of cost, proximity, and convenience. I ended up extending my stay from the initial 4 days to 11. I loved that there were plenty of places to walk to, like the Old Town Monterey or the open-aired Del Monte center (Westfield Mall) with its shops (Apple, LuLuLemon, Columbia, Pottery Barn, and thankfully a LensCrafters). Restaurants at the Mall and nearby to walk include (CPK, Kona, Island Burger, Chipotle, LaLa’s, Starbucks, Dametra - a quick version of Carmel’s top Dametra Cafe). There’s also Whole Foods and just up the street, my favorite, Chopsticks (Vietnamese). And a nearby TJs. I almost forgot to mention the TWO walkable farmers markets - Tuesday (old town) and Friday morning (across street at the Mall). The Tuesday afternoon to evening all year long farmers market is almost street fair-like as the Main Street lined with restaurants and such is closed to cars with normal FM stuff from the nearby fields of Monterey County, local artisans, and ... yum yum ... street food and more. The Friday one is seasonable - but given that this is where our food is grown, there is always something in season! Get there early. To sum up ... I'll know I'll stay here again and will recommend this to my fellow value or budget minded friends and travelers. It is a small Inn with less than 20 rooms split between two levels. Parking was tight but there always was a space available. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Oh, and the ice machine was working (unlike some nearby places) and the rooms just a few steps from your car. Also, attractions Historic Old Town with its incredible history of being Capital of Alta California and the wonderful Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Clean large room. Liked the geraniums out front of rooms, liked the thermostat for temperature control. Staff were nice, definitely would stay here again. Liked the location. Close to a delicious restaurant, not far from outdoor shopping mall.
