オーベルジュ ドゥ サヴォア(Auberge de Savoie)

Stayed for a quick pit-stop before heading up into the mountains to ski resort. Easy to locate, free parking on square outside, close to bus / train station and restaurants. Staff welcoming and helpful. Rooms were a reasonable size, comfortable but slightly dated.

Covenience to train/bus station is top.

What a gem of a place! We stayed on route to Val Thorens and with the extremely reasonable price we weren’t expecting much. But what a lovely evening - great no nonsense food, rooms were huge and clean, service was friendly and easy and there is free parking right outside the door. Deffo stopping here again 👍🏻

I think the meal was perhaps the disappointing meal that I have had in France ever. I ordered a vegetable risotto which arrived within 10 minutes so was clearly not freshly prepared. On putting my fork into the middle of it, it proved to be congealed rice. The waitress blamed it on the Savoie cheese added but there was no mention of this on the menu. I had the Green salad which accompanied it. My wife had a burger ordered in the medium condition but arrived rare. She left 85% of it. The bottle of Morgan ordered was pure vinegar and did not resemble anything near the Gamay grape. We left it on the table 85% full. We retreated to the bar and ordered a mixed charcuterie which was good but we did not do it justice as we were by that stage a bit past it. I ordered a bottle of Mercury and once again nowhere near a Burgundy wine I know so well. I handed it back to the bar as we went to bed with one glass consumed out of it. We were charged in full for everything with no reduction for anything. I think this might be summed as taking the mick…..Avoid.

Love this little hotel. We had a family suite, loads of space for the 4 of us. Comfortable beds, a seating area and great coffee/tea making options. We opted to dine in the restaurant downstairs, we had done so before and the food was lovely. Last night, wasn't nearly as good, but I think it was due to being short staffed. It is a good size restaurant and quite unique, it was very busy with only two servers so things were very slow. All in all though, I highly recommend it. Our room was faultless and more than we expected. The food was disappointing, but having eaten here before I would do so again because I know, that also, can be amazing.

Bon accueil avec le sourire . Chambre grande et propre mais un peu vieillotte Comme lq salle de bain dans leur jus . Pas de restaurant en ce moment . Petit déjeuner buffet. Il est complet et bon . Bon rapport qualité prix
