Hotel Linkway

We decided to stay here after the taxi to Colaba from the airport took nearly 2 hours on arrival. It’s located in a market area in Banda West. Took half an hour from the airport on arrival in heavy traffic, 15 minutes on the way back (driven by a would-be F1 taxi driver). First appearances were that the hotel looks like a public hospital- concrete with bars on the windows. There is a slightly institutional feel on entering but the staff were friendly and the lad who showed us to the room was clearly proud to work there which is always a good sign. The room was fine, small but clean with ac and fan. Very little noise from the street below and bed was comfy. However for 3500INR I would expect hot water in the room. There are a number of western style bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the hotel but no sights as such. As an airport overnight stay it was fine but you wouldn’t choose it as a base to visit Mumbai. Over priced too hence rating of 3. The room itself was a 4 but 2500 would have been a fairer price even for expensive Mumbai.

This Hotel advertises as being luxurious and homely. I experienced it as basic and total lacking a homely atmosphere. We booked a room with 2 beds and got a double bed. Not very pleasant, if you are not a couple. There is no restaurant. You can order food and eat in the room which lacks decoration. The staff need training in dealing with guests. I do not recommend this hotel.
