Myoko House - ホステル

Myoko House is a fantastic place for a Myoko ski getaway. Akiko and Nathan are extremely helpful and accommodating hosts. They offer fantastic meals and drinks available in-house but also transportation to the various ski fields. Best of all they offer a friendly and relaxed vibe with fun fireside chats over a cheeky nihonshu (Japanese Saki) or two after some of the best skiing of your life.

Cosy, clean and comfortable lodge with very welcoming and helpful staff. The service and atmosphere are excellent. The breakfasts and gyoza are delicious. All in all, it was a fantastic place to stay on my first visit to the Myoko area. My room was warm, comfortable and simply but tastefully furnished. The lodge also has a guest kitchen and a lounge for fire-side relaxing or TV watching, both of which I was able to make use of. The lodge is within walking distance of the Akakura Kanko Gondola station, but the lodge offers morning drop-offs to the four main ski areas. They also helpfully pick up and drop off at the local station. Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to staying there again when I return to the area.
