ヴィラ アンブロシア(Villa Ambrosia)

From the start of booking this room Elodie was messaging us to check we would have no problems with access to our room when we arrived. Our Room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The recommendation on the restaurant Gaia just down the road was a good one (please refer to my review on this). Overall an enjoyable stay, I would have rated this higher if it was closer to Narbonne centre - fifteen minutes walk to cathedral and the suburb was a little tricky to navigate- if you have mobility issues this would not be good for you

Frank Sinatra did it "My Way" and the charming ladies who own and run Villa Ambrosia have their own distinctive style in this funky but passionately unique B&B. The decoration and greenery suggest world travelers and folks that can't resist brocante shopping plus family heirlooms. Everything might not strike your fancy, but it all coalesces into a relaxing and whimsical whole built around a large indoor pool and enough plants and trees to compete with a botanical nursery. Our room, "Shabby" was comfortable with a premium bed and a fine rainwater shower. A memorable breakfast is essential for any self-respecting B&B, and Villa Ambrosia scores well on this checklist. A very minor quibble: wished they used more substantial paper napkins, but everything else on the table was delightful. A caution, if you are arriving by car: Allee Ambrosia is at a sharp angle off the main road, quai de Lorraine. You and/or your GPS might miss it, and that can be annoying and stressful. There are a cluster of tiny public parking spaces outside their gate and room for only a few cars inside. It would be prudent to reserve same if you have a large car or visible luggage when the car trunk is too small. This place grew on us. You may not have all the "mod cons" of a modern hotel (you might have to pull a cord out of a lamp socket to charge your laptop or phone), but you will be staying at a distinctive and singular hostelry that you will remember with fondness.

We travelled around Europe for a month, and stayed at 17 different accommodations in France, Portugal and Spain. We enjoyed a fantastic trip, but unfortuately this was the worst of all the accommodations we chose. We booked for 2 nights, but left after the first night, as it was simply not what we had expected or hoped for. We did not ask for a refund, I was simply very pleased to leave. Something we have never done before. The host does not live on site, and was not available when we arrived. The accommodation is sign posted, and we found it okay, although it is not obvious without the signs. The accommodation is not located in the best part of town. The car park is behind an iron gate, and then there is a further gate to gain access to the property. It was not inviting. As we went out for dinner there was another confused couple (we helped) trying to gain access to the car park. The key was in a key box, and we gained entry via a phone call without trouble. The room was in the garden, not the main house. Perhaps the garden was nice once, but now it is ill kept and in desperate need of attention. The room smelt strongly of damp. The garden ponds were full of mosquitoes. The air con worked, which was good, but did not cover the strong smell of damp. The towels need to be replaced immediately. Perhaps the rooms in the main house are better, but after the room we were allocated, I was not interested in asking to change. There is limited accommodation choice in Narbonne, and I chose based on the price average of about £150 a night, which had served us well throughout our trip. This accommodation was vastly overpriced. We were not impressed with Narbonne either to be honest. Don't like to leave bad reviews, but please beware. We moved on to Avignon as a result, which is lovely.

Delightful oasis a block from the canal and a 10 minute walk to the city center. Beautiful courtyard behind the wall. We’ll appointed rooms. Organized massages on site upon request. Elodie provided spectacular service throughout our visit. Didn’t have a car, so can’t comment, but would encourage you to talk with staff at booking. Nice breakfast. Stay wasn’t long enough.

Les chambres sont spacieuses et décorées avec goût - malheureusement un manque de ventilation laisse une odeur un peu désagréable - sur une des chambres la commande de la télévision ne fonctionnait pas ( les piles avaient coulés) lors de notre petite remarque le matin au petit déjeuner, la personne a certifié que les commandes sont vérifiées TOUS LES JOURS - nous sommes un peu dubitatifs On peut s’attendre à mieux pour le prix demandé

excellent séjour chez villa Ambrosia, le lieu est très bien situé prés du canal de la Robine, très pratique pour visiter Narbonne à pied. L'accueil est très chaleureux, le site est reposant est fort bien aménagé, les chambres parfaites pour le repos. Les installations avec notamment la piscine intérieure, la décoration stylée agrémentent le tout. J'allais oublier le petit déjeuner somptueux. Merci

Une très belle découverte , l’hôte était absente lors de notre arrivé vers 18h mais m’a très bien guidé au téléphone. Tout est magnifique décoré avec soin, la Chambre Rétro chic est très bien , c’est propre , il y a des boisson à disposition. La piscine et le jacuzzi sont accessible jusqu’à 20h c’est beau et propres. Des peignoirs sont à disposition, ainsi que serviette de bain et de plage. Le lit est très confortable . Et le petit déjeuner est copieux , avec des produits frais et du jus d’orange pressé. Idéale pour une escapade en amoureux , dépaysement total.
