ザ ゲスト ハウス ヒストリック マンション(The Guest House Historic Mansion)

Upon arriving at The Guest House, I had to call a number in the door to have someone come to the property to register me. It wasn’t a bad wait as I sat on the front porch and enjoyed watching some of the passers by. About 10 minutes later, someone arrived and began helping me get checked jn. The front desk person was extremely friendly and welcoming. She gave a lot of info about the hotel and some of the area things that would be worth checking out. She informed me that no one stayed full time at reception, but she made sure that I had the contact numbers if I needed anything. The room was nicely appointed with “time period” - the bed was extremely comfortable and offered a great nights sleep. The bathroom was a bit dated - but still quite functional. The complimentary breakfast in the restaurant was very good! Overall, every staff person here was very friendly and welcoming. You must realize you are staying in a place that was built and refurbished. If you are someone who can appreciate the aspect of historical buildings, then you will enjoy a stay here.

Very sweet, romantic and personal experience. We love the aspect of the limited number of rooms, and the personal interactions with all staff.

Great stay. Employees were super friendly. Gorgeous property. Beautiful decorations. Homemade(?) chocolate chip cookies left out for guests as well as water, coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate. Included breakfast at attached restaurant was delicious. We travel to Natchez often & we’ll definitely stay here again.

Property common areas looked pretty good but room and exterior was very tired desperately due a refresh from paint, carpet, tattered drapes and looks like it was due for remodel 15 years ago.

The historic Mansion was spectacular, we had a great time, the staff took care of any of the requests that we had right away. We were able to park just outside of the front door of the mansion, very easy for us too unload and reload our vehicle. It was one of the nicest places, things to see and explore in the historic mansion. A truly great place to stay.

I have already made a reservation here for our next trip back to Natchez. This property is so special. Our room was large and the bed very comfortable. If you appreciate historic architecture you will love it here. The restaurant is also wonderful. We especially loved our server and the food was delicious. It is so nice to be able to walk to restaurants and shopping from here. A

We had paid for a room with a king bed but they gave us a queen bed. They said since we booked with Hotels. Com at a discount they could change our room. Also the shower control was broken and could not take a tub bath, had only the showy. We did love the locTand the restaurant, but the lady on chef kout had an attitude when I asked why we didn’t get a king bed.

As with most older properties when you enter you can smell some dust. The property looks lovely with paintings and drapes decorating rooms throughout. Breakfast was included and quite good. The server was helpful and friendly as was the general manager. When I checked in they didn’t see my reservation and I had to show my confirmation which set out which room I reserved. The room tv couldn’t be turned on by the remote so I had to ask the manager how to turn it on. Since they know the remote is a problem it would be helpful to just put a note by the tv explaining how it works. I found someone else’s hair in the shower today so the tub wasn’t quite clean. There are no refrigerators in the rooms. I travel with medicine that needs to be refrigerated so they put it in a little refrigerator behind the desk but it had no freezer in which to put my ice packs for travel the next day. When I went to collect my medicine from that fridge and check out no one was at the desk. I waited a while called the number left on the desk for that purpose but it rang at the desk. I was told by another guest she saw someone sitting on the porch. I went out there and found the employee in a rocking chair on the porch on her phone. This was morning when most guests are checkout, not a great time to sit out on the porch. Overall it was a pleasant stay but had some wrinkles to be worked out.

The place was beautiful. Would have loved a sazerac from the bar, but we missed the bartender. Looking forward to our next visit.
