"My wife and I stayed three nights recently at Hostal Almanzor. The Hostal is a clean and quiet hotel, and the hosts are very gracious. I am a birder, and if you like birds, this is the place you want to go in the Gredos Mountains. Luis is a serious bird photographer and has a bird blind built into the hotel. He and Loli were very patient helping me out with where to go hiking and birding nearby."

"The site is excellent—the parador interesting because of historical and landscape reasons. But we felt the whole service machinery was understaffed. The menu items are very scarce as there were served dishes precooked microwave heated before served. At the bar they served us a dish of Iberian ham which was half made of grease or fat. To complain about this was useless, nobody seems to care of customers' complaints."

"We were heading home around 11 pm and saw it was open, so we decided to stay. The staff were so welcoming; we were able to have a drink and then went to bed. The room was clean and the bed comfortable—no detail was overlooked. The breakfast was good, and it was much appreciated that all the pastries and bread were gluten-free, which was a real plus for someone with celiac disease."
