We arrived as a group of 10 ladies who had booked 6 rooms between us on one booking. We received the keys for 5 but they struggled to find a 6th. While one member of staff tried half-heartedly to find a sixth, another refused to take an international credit or debit card (Mastercard) for payment. Our trip organiser was taken to a bank to withdraw cash, but the bank would not give out enough for the bill. The hotel suggested an international bank transfer but our UK bank wouldn't accept international account number formats. While this was going on, the hotel still couldn't find a 6th room. The occupants of one of the other 5 asked to be moved because the shower tap had fallen off in their hand. Other occupants were complaining about various things not working and multiple doors refused to lock from the inside. A room was found for the 6th booking but the porter was unable to open the door at all. The group began looking for an alternative hotel, at which point the person on reception decided they could perhaps accept an international credit card after all. They still couldn't provide a sixth room so we left. *********** supported our decision despite the hotel attempting to charge us as a "no show". The attitude of the staff was appalling. They gave up looking to fulfill the booking and sat doing nothing behind reception. This is a hotel in such a poor state of repair, I suspect the staff have just given up trying to provide a service.
