Post covid, most 5 star hotels have reduced their standards and their service levels, and truly, are not providing what we expect at that level anymore. That is not the case with the Anchorage. Aside from the large, stylish and wonderfully clean rooms, that come with stocked mini bars, quality Dyson hairdryers, generous toiletry supplies, the 2 pools, beach next door, kabana area and lovely restaurants, ( we ate in both The Galley and Wild Herring,and breakfast is a high standard) it is the little complementary touches that set this place apart. It is the staff circling the pool offering fresh watermelon and zooper dooper ice pops, champagne/ mimosas and barista coffee at breakfast, sun cream and chilled water poolside, and a drink when you check in. The staff are wonderful and nothing feels like too much trouble from everyone that we encountered - Olivia and team at the front desk, to housekeeping crew and all the wait staff. I have been here a few times for work, facilitating events for clients but not had the opportunity to enjoy the location. This time I booked a leisure trip with my family and I write this review because it truly has been a wonderful experience and they deserve the acknowledgment. I would recommend The Anchorage to clients and friends alike based on the thoughtful touches alone.
