Our stay at Geckos rest was perfect, the room was clean and comfortable with a good view of Newquay town which was just a few minute walk to get to. The staff were very friendly and helpful for recommendations of food places. Breakfast was great and the choice of a packed breakfast sandwich bag was perfect for our early morning surf lesson at Fistral beach.

This is our third visit to Gecko's Rest. We loved our stay, and felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We had a lovely room with a comfy bed a sea view and everything we needed, including a small fridge which was very welcome. The breakfasts at Gecko's Rest are delicious and plentiful with lots of choices. The location is convenient and just a short walk to the centre of town. Thank you John and Amy,we hope to be back before too long.

The experience at GEKOS B&B was extremely positive and fully matched everything described on the booking website. We received a warm and professional welcome, with clear explanations of all the services offered and even helpful suggestions beyond the B&B itself, such as a list of nearby restaurants, a city map, and parking options. The rooms are spotless — truly above expectations — and the sea view from our two rooms was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, abundant, and varied. The two owners were very kind and professional. So, if I pass through Newquay again, I will definitely stay here.

Perfect location for seeing Newquay by foot, and as a base for getting to iconic beaches and historical sites by car. Enough parking for all guests. John and Amy provide all the essentials and run the B&B like clockwork, Gecko’s Rest is clean, and the breakfasts are great. John spent time with us to orient us for the sites we wanted to see, gave us tips for navigating (that don’t come up in Apple Maps or Google Maps), directed us to the best laundry, and gave us recommendations for the restaurants that locals frequent.

A small, charming bed-and-breakfast. It's very well-maintained, and the rooms are beautifully and comfortably furnished. The breakfast is truly wonderful.

Our German friends wanted to visit Cornwall, which we did not know ourselves, so we opted to stay in Newquay. Geckos Rest is situated a short walk from the town centre. John and Amy were very welcoming and helpful towards us and other guests. Our rooms were comfortable, extremely clean with comfortable beds. We also had great views over the town and bay. There is onsite parking, which is a great asset. Geckos Rest is on a road that is busy during the day, but quietens down at night. Traffic noise did not disturb our sleep. There was a good choice of cooked breakfasts including kippers, which I love but normally cannot get. We would wholeheartedly recommend Geckos Rest as an excellent and good value B&B.

Everything anout this place was perfect. The welcome from John, the impeccable house, the delicious freshly-cooked breakfast all made for a great stay. Also it's just a few minutes walk to the town centre and station and the bus station is just two minutes away. Very highly recommended
