ザ フォリー ホテル(The Folly Hotel)

This business should not describe itself as a hotel. It is lodgings for regulars who know the procedure and possibly others who appreciate a fairly cheap, no frills no service night. When I arrived, the front door was locked. A woman came to the main door and pointed for me to go to the side door. At the side door, there were 7 boxes labelled 1 ＞ 7. The woman came to the door and told me I needed to dial a code into panel N° 4 and I'd get my key. It was dark, hardly an outside light and I was expected to turn 4 dials to open the box and get my key. I had not received an email giving me the procedure, room number and code. The room was clean but basic. Just don't expect any human contact, they just want your money.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly. The room number 5 was smaller than expected.

Self check in. Never met a member of staff main hotel closed. Walls too thin very noisy. Had booked for two nights only stayed one night left the next day. Worst Hotel we have stayed in. Would never go back or recommend. False advertising place needs shut down 😡

Two night stay to explore the local area. Very friendly and efficient welcome. The friendly manner of the staff shone through for all the time we were there. Comfortable, clean room, enough space and quiet (room 5 at the rear of the property). Nice, freshly cooked to order breakfast. We had a drink in the bar area one night which, while small, offers a space to relax away from the room. Overall, a pleasant stay with friendliness of the staff standing out.

We last stayed here 5-6 years ago when it was under different ownership. The new owners have made a real effort to do the place up and it's much improved. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was plentiful and fantastic.

I notified the Folly Hotel 2 weeks before my stay that i could not go to the Hotel because I had 2 dogs. The hotel told me that my room had now been taken and that I would get a refund, but as yet I have not received a refund. Can you please contact the Hotel so that you can issue me with a refund. Excellent location, comfortable bed, good breakfast included, friendly helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay and we would go back. Previous reviews make a big deal about noise and lack of privacy, I'd disagree. Sure the floors are creaky but the location is quiet, the room was dark enough to sleep well. Really not a problem.

Very small room, floors creaked horrendously everytime you moved and you could hear other guests moving around in the night.
