ザ フェザント ホテル ホルト ノーフォーク(The Pheasant Hotel, Holt, Norfolk)

Dreadful attitude from the general manager. We have stayed there a month ago and found the room, food and service excellent. As a result of eating there, I was sent a coaching inn email, saying that I could have a free main course and starter for my birthday which is today. However, I only discovered this email in my junk folder yesterday. So I called in to explain that I had no photo ID as we arrived in Norfolk on Wednesday and had only seen the email at the last minute. The manager was difficult and argumentative, stating that we were not allowed to come according to the rules and I needed to understand that! Eventually he said we could eat there tonight but I was too shocked by his attitude to eat there on my birthday. So we cancelled and cancelled another booking at the end of May. We had planned to stay there in June with friends but we’re going to the Blakeney hotel instead where we have always had excellent service. Also, the food and service at the Moorings tonight was brilliant. It’s fortunate that there are so many good restaurants in the area although the Pheasant is giving out the message that it does not need to attract customers.

The hotel is so well run. The rooms are slightly tired, but perfectly functioning, with lots of lovely touches. Everywhere throughout the hotel was clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. The thing that stood out for us was the staff. Without exception everyone was friendly, attentive & seeming to enjoy what they do. A rare thing in hospitality these days. Special mention to Claire in the restaurant. She was only on her second day & made us feel very special. The food was exceptional. This is how a hotel should be, clean, well run & friendly. We will be back!

Been before but no longer owned by Kelling estates… but nothing has changed staff are very accommodating food is very good…bathrooms could do with an upgrade but they are clean and you get toiletries… would recommend

Comfortable very large bed, coffee and tea making facilities available. Quiet room. Meals in Hotel resturant, varied menu, food excellant, staff friendly and attentive. Location close to the coast, bycycles to hire, walking map available down to the sea.

A lovely place and excellent staff. However some of the room fittings are getting a bit tired. The food was very good but the change to a "Standard Menu" gives the impression of another chain pub. Despite the claim to use local producers, the bar was running down Norfolk gin and just one local ale. Generally it's losing its local feel.

Good location . Excellent facilities at the Hotel . Good free parking . Friendly staff. Good food. Will stay again.

Lovely area, lots of places to visit. hotel was great but To expensive for singles. There was no difference between prices p.p. For Double room or double room single occupant.

The comfortable room was well appointed, with comfortable beds. The walk in Shower head attachment was broken. The second time we reported this it was repaired. We had issues with some of our meals. The food didn't taste like it was freshly cooked it was often dried out and tasteless. Service at breakfast was at times chaotic. No cold meat and cheese on the buffet. We had booked dinner bed and breakfast but the restaurant had us down as B&B. This took a while to sort out by us finding our email booking to "prove" we had already paid for dinner. The dinner allowance is £36 but it transpires it is in fact £36 + a 10% service charge. This was new to us as it did not say this on our booking! Sneaky! It did not feel it made the grade as a 4 star hotel

We had such a lovely stay at The Pheasant Hotel! The staff are all brilliant from reception to the waiters/waitresses in the restaurant. The hotel itself is really pretty, so having an afternoon drink on the lawn was an absolute joy. We stayed in the Keepers Hut, which was fabulous! You have everything you could need for a short stay, the bed was so comfortable and the claw foot bath was lovely. You have a little seating area outside so you can sit by the fire in the evenings too! We will be returning as soon as possible! New favourite!
