I love this place and have stayed many times over the years. Very safe and basic amenities. everything you need for a stay in Nosara. Great restaurant right on the property with amazing margaritas. I highly recommend this place whether you're traveling alone or with others. Close to the beach and to town. The staff is helpful and friendly. One of my favorite place to hang out in Nosara.

Kind of bare bones rooms and amenities. Rooms are where you sleep and that’s about it. If you stay here, it’s because you want to be close to the beach at an affordable price - there’s no other real reason. Awful shower and sink, no receptionist ever present on site. You’re just on your own while everyone in charge hangs in the much more luxurious Harmony Hotel - which you have to go to if you need help while at Sunset Shack. That being said, the pool is perfect. Staff super chill and wonderful. Walking distance to the best beaches and restaurants.

Laid back atmosphere, nice room with a mini kitchen, very comfortable beds, lovely pool, so close to the beach- wonderful!

Rooms were clean, coffee & pour over for daily use, small kitchen sink & utensils if needed. the onsite restaurant had great food for all meals, great drinks, very friendly staff, highly recommend this place. LIked that it’s not a big touristy hotel & is down to earth where you get a feel for the local culture.

Fantastic spot to eat sleep surf yoga…. Fantastic staff & great breakfast included. I will be back for sure! I have fallen in love once again w Costa Rica- the place the beach the people the plants the critters- the food pura Vida all the way

Great location close to the beach. A little quieter there vs right next to all the busiest restaurants. Issue with the AC one night but it was fixed promptly. Kids liked the pool

It is a lovely place. The staff at the reception and team at the restaurant are super friendly and make the stay very nice. Daily cleaning and huge size nice breakfasts! Every room has a kitchenette with a coffee maker which is nice. One thing that was a bit of wobble for me is that I stayed in room N1. Everyone was passing by. So you have to keep your windows always closed with curtains and it was dark and at times a bit nosy. It is not a cheap place but then Nosara is generally very expensive and comparing to other hotels it ended up been a reasonable deal. And the place is close to the beach.
