性價比很高了！酒店的花園很漂亮，酒店裡的餐廳選擇很多，嘗試了印度餐廳很好吃。酒店的設施有些老舊，馬桶不太好沖，需要多沖幾次碰碰運氣……

外觀：簡直像小時候玩的積木一樣精緻，拍照很出片。 內飾：高貴典雅，年代感足但絲毫不老舊。 餐飲：晚餐有自助和印度餐廳單點，我們選擇品嚐一下正宗的印度餐，咖喱確實比較足，但是能接受。特別要表揚一下為我們服務的SanKaLpa,他是位特別幽默的雅拉 小夥子，熱情的為我們推薦、介紹特色美食，使我們的用餐體驗特別舒適👍 服務：從進入大堂開始每個人都洋溢着熱情，不像有些攻略中講的歧視中國人，完全沒感到。 配套：泳池好美啊，人也少，略隱蔽；小花園溜達轉轉也很愜意的。

不愧是女王住過的酒店

房子和花園超級美麗，門口的印度餐廳很美味，但是房間很小，設備很老，我們訂的1700多一晚，不值這個價

Grand hotel standards are maintained only in terms of the hotel garden and lobby:( rooms are disappointing! I came here for my honeymoon and I’m upset I disappointed my spouse after all the hype i created about this British hotel..! Worst stay experience!

To quote from the hotel's own promotional material - “Edward Barnes, Governor of Ceylon during the era from 1830 to 1850 built the Barnes Hall at his own expense, which now stands as the legendary "Grand Hotel" Whilst maintaining the British Colonial architecture, the Hotel has evolved to resonate palatial grandeur blended with exceptional hospitality that has surpassed the expectations of many a visitor” It sees itself as similar to other major world hotels, but in reality it's nothing like them. It's dark and gloomy throughout, and the staff we had dealings with were unhelpful and uninterested (in total contrast to other similar hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka). They have uniforms that wouldn't look out of place in a Victorian melodrama, and must be very uncomfortable, let alone impractical (again in contrast to the other hotels we used, where staff had practical, modern uniforms, similar to most other major world hotels). We had a group dinner booking in a room that didn't appear to exist on the hotel signage, and no one seemed inclined to help us in any way. Our room was shabby, and had certain “interesting” features we've not seen before (The bedside lights operated together, meaning either both off or both on; the only heating was a shabby fake fire that operated a fan heater, there is no room guide, and the list goes on). We had afternoon tea, which is billed as similar to say big London hotels (such as the Ritz, Claridges etc). The organisation was total chaos, insufficient seating had been allocated for our group, no menus etc. We repeated had to ask for scones, which is an essential item in any hotel afternoon tea. All I can add is whoever in the hotel management thinks the food quality/service levels matches a major London hotel, clearly has never been in a big London hotel. They appear to have extensive and well looked after grounds. Unfortunately we were denied access, as there was a big wedding going on, involving the celebration and associated (multiple) group photos (meaning much of the grounds were shut off). I understand all hotels have to take profitable business such as weddings, but when they dominate the whole hotel, they totally destroy the whole experience for normal guests. We are fortunate to have used many of the worlds top hotels – this is (by far) the worse hotel at this price point) we have ever been in.
