Centrally located in village. Very warm welcome, staff lovely. Hotel desperately needs a refurb decoration very tired. The bedroom and bathroom very shabby. Sink cracked tap broken. Breakfast was ok. Bed comfy and slept well. Bar area nice lovely open fire.

Excellent place to enjoy a superb lunch consisting of locally sourced ingredients. Wide choice of dishes to choose from, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Great choice of deserts as well. Service is excellent and very helpful. Well worth a visit.

We stayed at The George Inn to celebrate a friend’s birthday & had a wonderful time. Friendly staff, a spacious & clean room, free on site parking & delicious food. The bar area is so cosy with its wingback chairs & roaring fire, it was hard to leave!

The picture does the George or its owner no justice whatsoever. We had the pleasure of staying at The George in Oakham this past weekend, and it truly surpassed our expectations. Lovingly restored to its former glory with no expense spared, the hotel exudes charm and elegance at every turn. The staff were attentive and welcoming, ensuring every detail was taken care of. The food was nothing short of exceptional, complemented by a comprehensive drinks menu. On-site parking made the stay all the more convenient, and the rooms were a perfect combination of style, comfort, and immaculate cleanliness. Breakfast was a delight, rounding off an unforgettable stay. We'll most certainly be back to this wonderful retreat in Oakham!

We love meeting at the George Inn for drinks and dinner with friends. Lovely, homely and cosy atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The food, particularly Sunday lunch, is always of a high quality and well presented. I would highly recommend for a relaxing evening.

The George Inn was a Great experience I celebrated my 50th birthday party there with 20 friends in the Rutland room and the food and service was impeccable in a beautiful relaxing and well appointed hotel. The staff can’t do enough for you,Would recommend highly 👌

What a wonderful small hotel to stay at. They have a great bar and now an amazing restaurant..the food is fantastic. If I was wanting a quick break at a hotel in the middle of England I would recommend this place very highly..the staff and everyone is so friendly
