Residence Inn Oakland Downtown

We were in town for Cal parents weekend, to spend time with our daughter. She missed our fur baby terribly so we brought our pooch along. When we first drove up, I wasn’t sure. The area didn’t look great, BUT it ended up being a great stay. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. From Shayla who checked us in, the man who helped me get ice to all the valets that helped us- they all surpassed my expectations. We forgot the valet key to our electric car so we complicated the process but they accomplished us so we did not have to find street parking. Thank you all so much.

Great location, right in the center of downtown, plenty of places to eat close by but most of all, I loved the staff. They were all so friendly and helpful. Very nice rooms, clean, I highly recommend!

The hotel seemed very nice, but I believe since we booked 3rd party we got the room directly across from the elevator. I tried to call the service desk to ask for a new room, no one answered. When it was time to go to sleep, we tried to close all the black out curtains and we were unable to close one all the way. When the sun came up, it lit the room up as if it were daytime. We tried to make coffee in the in room coffee maker in the morning. The in room coffee maker did not work. As I checked out, I let the front desk know about all of the problems, she was a it rude and asked if I had called to let them know. I had, but no one answered. Very disappointed. The only real positive is that the hotel was walking distance from the Fox Theater where we went to see a concert.

Stated one night for a concert. It’s literally a 4mins Uber ride to the Fox Theater. Pro: the front staff, valet staff, and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very new, clean, and bed was very comfortable! And lastly, breakfast was super good! Con: hotel is located in an area that looks very sketchy. There is only one restaurant (vegan) around the corner and a convenience store across the street. Not much else to eat around and requires at least a 15-20min walk through sketchy neighborhoods just to find other restaurants. Even though the hotel says they have a restaurant, it’s more like they offer appetizers at high price values which is a shame because they can really capitalize on this given that there is hardly any restaurants nearby.

I absolutely LOVED my stay at this hotel!! The room was very well kept and the bed was extremely comfortable. I love the personal greeting on the television screen. What I loved most was the staff! They were a dreeamm!! Each person I encountered was genuinely pleasant. Jose was extremely patient during my initial check-in. Britanee greeted me with a smile each time we crossed paths even going out of her way to suggest means of getting convenience items as well as helping me with storing my luggage while I did some after checkout exploring. Mercedes was super sweet and energetic. There was a young lady as the bartender Friday evening whos name I unfortunately did not catch but she was super funny as we exchanged concert stories. Lastly there was a gentleman whos name was Charles I believe who helped me put my luggage in the car. Overall I had a great stay and will most definitely stay here again!!

This one of best hotels that I have stayed at in a while. Good location. Great staff Good rooms. Comfortable and affordable

I love this property and its location! Nice staff, valet parking is so convenient, good housekeeping. Great breakfast each morning. And beautiful view from our room! This hotel is now my go to for Oakland, CA!

So far, every time I’ve stayed here, the stay has been wonderful. When I am in the area I will reserve here again. Thank you
