An absolutely stunning hotel with excellent service and breakfast. It was a treat to see one of the old colonial homes for the wealthy, with their inner courtyards and fountains. This is a common building form in the historical center, and this example was restored beautifully. The

The only complaint was that one day the breakfast came slow. Other than that this is perfect. In the middle of the city and they helped us to plan visit to historic sites. Super safe! I loved it and I plan to come back. The rooms are big and you hear a little noise (I went on día de muertos) so they were parades but the noise was minimum. A great place to stay.

One of the worst hotel experiences of my well- traveled life. The room reeked of kerosene. The bathroom smelled so bad it was unusable. Staff tried to solve the problem to no avail. The first new room offered was ONLY to sleep in for one night. The second room they offered is next to a club that stays open until 4:00 AM on weekends (which this was) so they do not put guests in this room due to the noise. Desperate to be away from a toxic stench, I took earplugs and made my way to the new room. The music went on until early morning but was bearable with earplugs. The next morning I rose to take a shower but there was no hardware in the shower so it could not be turned on. No other offer was made by the hotel to help accommodate.

Outstanding in every way! The service was amazing, super friendly and the breakfast was so delicious! The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. We can’t wait to go back.

My room on the second floor was especially peaceful. I kept the double doors open to the courtyard in the evening, and it was heavenly. I loved the fact that breakfast was included and enjoyed a huge bowl of oatmeal loaded down with berries and fruit each morning. Every member of the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful - especially Enrique! Overall a great experience!

The staff is exceptional. They are kind and helpful. The hotel has a great location, fabulous room, and generous breakfast. I would highly recommend.

Some parts of the hotel are beautiful (especially the courtyard) but overall it's a 3-Star hotel with 5-Star prices ... some strange furniture choices and then there is branding everywhere, on pillows and towels ... this is not really my vibe

Pugseal is a gorgeous hotel, most of the staff is absolutely wonderful, and the location is fantastic. The breakfast is wonderful, rooms are great and very proportional. Tip: a deluxe room isn’t worth the additional fee, just do the standard. Truly the only issue is how loud the hotel in the evening, Thursday to Saturday there’s a club attached/below (?) that blast music til 2:30/3. They do provide ear plugs in the room but if you’re a light sleeper it is a problem - the hotel kindly moved us to a slightly quieter room after our second night. Tip: avoid Tierra room if you need quiet. It’s strange because the hotel is sooo serene and peaceful during the day. All in all I would recommend PugSeal just make sure you request a quiet room.
