Red Lion Inn & Suites Olympia, Governor Hotel

There is no hot water. Nay, not even warm water. Taps are all ice cold after running 30 minutes. Cannot take a shower or even wash hands decently. Do not stay here. The neighborhood is decent enough during the day, but breaking glass and police sirens kept waking us up. Do not stay here.

A very convenient spot to stay. Easy walk to multiple restaurants and shops in downtown Olympia. Extremely affordable, included a simple yet varied breakfast. The view of water and sunset from my room was beautiful. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional.

Staff were great. Hotel rooms are very run down.paint peeling in bathrooms, broken pieces on counters, cracks in tub. Very convenient location but a large population of homeless folks - doesn’t bother us but important to some people, property needs updating

Stayed for two nights. Friendly reception. Great location with good parking. The room was spacious with a big double bed. The AC worked well and made allmost no sound. Good Wi-Fi and a fare selection of tv-channels. The breakfast was as expected for a motel.

Rooms are not air conditioned! This means that the floor-to-ceiling east / west facing glass walls let in sun and heat up your room like an oven. All you can do is open the sliding door 4" and run the pokey fan system. Expect severe discomfort in warm weather. The furnishings and decor are BEAT and the hotel is long overdue for a complete renovation. Saw one small cockroach in the elevator. Second elevator broke down while we were staying, making hauling our stuff in and out a chore. As others have mentioned, the breakfast is a cruel joke. No hot food, just bagels / toast / instant oatmeal. Coffee was out the two times I checked. Completely unacceptable. On our second day we skipped it entirely and went to a cafe down the street. Although parking is free, you'll notice that the top deck spaces always fill up first... this is because the lower deck is out of sight and SKETCHY. Access is not controlled and there appears to be zero security presence either. When I parked my vehicle on the lower deck early Sunday morning there were two "unhoused individuals" in the process of dismantling an SUV a few spaces away from me. I didn't bother reporting this because it was clear that management was intentionally ignoring the trespassers. I highly encourage you to spend a few extra bucks and book a much better hotel up the street. This one is on its last legs.

The photos they use to lure you in are definitely not the room you will receive. We came into the city to see the Comedian Josh Blue and wanted this to be a memorable few days. We were disappointed in the room. FILTHY dirty and extremely outdated. The door to the patio was only able to be opened about 8", and then it couldn't be shut again. Paint peeling and dirty carpet and walls. The blinds had holes in them. The red bright numbers on the clock radio will keep you up at night, so we unplugged it. I have several pictures, including the one that looks as though someone wiped their body snot on the side of the dresser. The free breakfast is a joke, cold muffins, yogurt, rolls, and mystery cereals. Nothing hot... I wanted a cup of coffee but not even half n half to put in it other than Coffee Mate. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN. Red Lion should take their name off of this hotel. It's more like a run-down motel. GOOD POINTS: All of the staff were very friendly and kind. I think they all know what type of place this is.

The worst hotel ever stayed in. Dated and Dirty. Broken elevators, cobwebs, inattentive staff, broken sliding glass door, bugs! Do not stay here. You know it’s bad when you don’t even want to walk barefoot on the carpet. Nuff said.

Although breakfast is included it was minimalist to the extreme and many people ended up dining out for breakfast--a huge added expense, making the lower nightly rate decidedly not worth it. Very poor service as well from never refilling the few items at breakfast from coffee to milk to brown sugar for the oatmeal (one of the few choices for breakfast as it is) to messing up room information on a two-night reservation such that our key-cards didn't work the second night.

Overall clean and friendly hotel. Close to downtown and Capital. Good pubs within walking distance with good atmosphere. Secure parking behind the building was nice as we had our Harleys. Small overhang could fit 2 bikes to keep them out of the weather as well. Breakfast that was included was below average. Overall good stay.
