Hotel Poza Blanca Lodge

Very nice space. Friendly workers. Two small issues for the price. 1.) The pillows were not very comfortable. I wish they could source more supple pillows similar to a Marriot or down or down alternative 2.) In my unit the bathroom vanity door would slide open as it was at a slight incline and would not hold firm, so the vanity drawer was always open. Otherwise, the room and ground were neat and clean. Accessing the river below was also really nice!

Heading back from Manuel Antonio to the airport, we wanted to break up the journey. We therefore decided this was an ideal stop off. The place is lovely with beautiful and extensive grounds which they are also updating with a new pool. The staff are excellent including Oliver and Wilmer. The only one negative would be that the breakfast could have been a little better. Apart from that - pretty much perfect for what we wanted.

We have just got back to the UK having stayed six nights at Poza Blanca Lodge. The lodge was immaculately clean, and very reasonably priced. Maria, who owns / runs it was fluent in English and the perfect hostess, nothing was too much trouble for Maria and all her staff. We had an excellent Continental breakfast each day and the pizzas were as good as any we’ve had all over the world! A green oasis in the Tropics! We highly recommend Poza Blanca!

Wonderful two night stay. Hidden in the hills of San Mateo this is a lovely boutique hotel. The grounds are immaculate with a small pool and a cute playground for children. Our room was beautifully designed, well furnished with a small balcony to sit and enjoy the early morning or evening. The bathroom was large and included all the amenities of a top rated hotel. Breakfast was lovely and their morning coffee excellent. They have a restaurant but we did not eat there. Great location for a day trip to Jaco and the costal area or a stop on the way to La Fortuna. Enjoy. You won’t be disappointed.

Poza Blanca Lodge is lovely. It's a small, boutique hotel located in beautiful gardens next to a river. My extended family and I stayed in Poza Blanca the first night we arrived in CR. We usually stay close to the airport the first evening, but we decided to go for something different this time. I am so glad that we did. Service is nice. Beds are good. Restaurant is tasty. Location is beautiful and serene. And the AC and wifi are definite pluses. I wish we had stayed more than one night at Poza Blanca - next time we will stay longer. It's too beautiful and relaxing not to.

Great little hotel, very modern, comfortable, and clean rooms, quiet location. On site restaurants very good. River adjacent fun for swimming!. An excellent option in the San Mateo area. Staff and servers all extremely friendly and professional.

Lovely hotel with spacious rooms and nice beds. Small pool and a jacuzzi. A playground, playfield and a trampoline for the kids. And just a small walk to the river, where you can swim and give yourself a skin treatment with white clay. Everything was clean, food was good, staff friendly. Really recommend this place. Friendly and helpfull manager (with a lovely daughter, Valentina!). Definitely recommend this place, hope we can come back soon!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was quiet. The grounds were beautiful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it for families and couples. We will return. Gracias.

The rooms are lovely and the food in the little restaurant is first rate for Costa Rica. Very nice grounds, They need to work out the gate (we tried to leave for an early morning birdwatching trip and the place was locked up and we could knock it out, it was resolved 10 minutes later but they need some systems) and also check in is a little clunky as there is really no main reception desk but it all works but it’s a little casual
