ザ・ミル・リゾート・アルバ(The Mill Resort and Suites)

Unfortunately the laundry center was broken down when I needed a dryer. Otherwise it was a great stay.

We enjoyed the welcome from the check-in crew/ataff. The premises was nice and cozy. What we did not like was the sound from connected bedrooms.

The only downside was that our room was not ready until after 5pm on check in day and when we got our room it was on the back side of the building which was under landscaping construction. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was a bit slow, and at times they could use additional hands to speed up service.

Our room was serviced twice over a 6 day period and it was done at very odd hours. We waited to get into our room 9:30 at night after having the room service sign on the door all day long.

I have been to Aruba 9 times and this is the worst experience I’ve had at a resort. I will not be booking with them again. I booked a room with a kitchenette, and when arriving at the resort, they put me in a room without one without notifying me of any change. I brought it to the front desk staff’s attention, and they offered me no compensation, except for free breakfast, which was already free for all people booking with them. Ridiculous. The manager said they would see if they could switch my room later in my trip and then never followed up with me so that was a false promise. On top of this, there is a nightclub directly next to the resort that plays music, extremely loud until 3 AM in the morning. This resort does not have soundproofed doors or walls so this music was extremely disruptive when trying to sleep. One night I had to complain to the front desk staff at 2 AM so they could call the cops. Overall, the resort was pretty, not super crowded, clean and the beach was a very short walk away. There was one staff member at the beach who would set up lounge chairs for you. There is construction going on directly behind their section of the beach so be prepared for noise when trying to relax in the sun. The staff at the resort was not as friendly compared to other resorts. I’ve stayed at, and the service was not great.

This is a very nice hotel but the administration is very disorganized. We booked a room through ******* with a kitchen and when we arrived they did not have this room available and did not have any record of it. Thankfully we brought a printout of our itinerary as proof. We still did not get our booked room until over 24 hours after we arrived and we definitely had to push them to honour the booking.

Property well kept up. Good shuttle service to beach. Check in was inefficient. Took one hour. I was there for 8 days and the garden view room faced garden construction.

Everything was very nice, staff was great! Area was really nice very close to several restaurants & stores

We have stayed at The Mill many times. I knew it had been purchased by Marriot and was a Courtyard although I had not been there for a couple of years. What I didn't know and do want others to know is that there is a disconnect going on here. Briefly- when you book a room through The Mill, you will be given a "timeshare" room. There are many timeshare units there. When the owners of that week come in, you have to move. The Courtyard rooms have been renovated and are fine but the repacking and moving rooms is not. It would be less annoying if you were advised of this at booking. However, it came as a surprise and you have to check out, check back in to the Courtyard system and in the process lose an afternoon waiting for the next room to be ready. The Mill has always been laid back and friendly. After twenty years of visiting Aruba and staying at The Mill for about fifteen of those trips, we were just disappointed that this property has become so disjointed. The location is still great, the long time Mill employees are still wonderful, and I have only sympathy for the front desk staff. Just know if you book online through The Mill and not through Courtyard, you may be subject to a day of serious inconvenience.
