ホテル E カゼッレ(Hotel Restaurant & Spa E Caselle)

Lovely hotel in a pretty valley near Venaco. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room we had Was nice and had a patio near the river. The food in the evening and the breakfasts were very good. The swimming Pool is very good with lots of comfortable sun loungers. Only slight issue was our room had the wardrobe in the bathroom So not ideal. Our friends room had the wardrobe in the bedroom as you would expect.

We stayed 3 nights in early May in the 1-bedroom riverside suite. The hotel sits on its own in a rural location approximately a 10-minute drive to Venaco. The setting is on the river is tranquil and the property is rustic on the outside but modern on the inside. The grounds around the main building and rooms are nice although the placement of an old rusting American car containing a stuffed bird (presumably for ‘artistic’ reasons) detracted from the setting in our opinion. The suite is set in separate building overlooking the river and has an adjoining door to what we assumed was a second bedroom. We were unsure how effective the soundproofing would be if anyone was staying in the adjoining room as it seemed to be empty during our stay. The room was split level with the bedroom and bathroom on the upper level and a lounge area at the bottom. Both levels had a balcony. The wooden lounge chairs on the decks were a case of design over comfort and were not suitable for use to relax and enjoy the view over the river. The bathroom was small for a suite with only a shower and no bath. One really annoying point was the coffee in the room. The room had a coffee maker and there were two coffee pods and two teabags on the tray when we arrived. The coffee pods were not replenished on the second day so we went to reception to ask for more. We were told rather awkwardly that coffee/tea was not replenished. We asked if we could buy more coffee pods and were told perhaps and that they would find out. We were never given an answer. Considering we were given coffee/tea every day in other hotels in the area which cost a lot less money, being so ‘cheapskate’ over a few euros worth of coffee detracted from the overall experience. Whilst we enjoyed our stay in the hotel, the dining experience really lets the hotel down. Firstly, breakfast is listed on the website as 12€ pp. We were charged 19€ pp. The price would not have been too bad had the breakfast offering been good, but is wasn't. It consisted of bread, croissants/pain au chocolat, 3 types of cereal, some cheese, a basket containing a few bits of fruit, yoghurt, self-serve coffee and juice. For the price charged you would expect more (i.e. table service, fruit salad, hot food (e.g. eggs, bacon etc) and at least some home made goods such as granola. Dinner was equally as bad. The staff were all over the place and service was chaotic. The menu was limited and the main dishes were ‘odd’ i.e. sardines with hummous, tuna carpaccio! On the second night I ordered the tuna but was given the sardines again. After having waited over an hour for the food I didn’t have the energy to return it. The sardine was half the size of the one I had the previous night and after 30 mins dealing with the hundreds of small bones, I figured there had been a teaspoon of actual sardine on my plate. The desserts were ok but so small they were eaten in a few spoons. The restaurant was so disappointing that we could not face a third nig

We stayed at this lovely hotel midway through our 2 week drive around Corsica - it was a bit of a treat night, as it was the only 4* hotel we stayed at! The River Room wasn't actually any better than the 3* hotels we had stayed at, fairly basic and quite compact, but the price was comparable and it did have a lovely view over the river as hoped, plus a nice bathroom. There was only a coffee machine, and it would have been good to have had a kettle (to make tea) and a mini fridge, but no crisis. We had no issue with the wardrobe being on one side of the large bathroom - there was plenty of shelf and hanging space there. The hotel is about a 10min drive down a country lane from the turn off in Venaco, so it made sense to eat in the hotel's restaurant that eve. The menu was much more creative than any other restaurants we found on our Corsican travels, so not to everyone's taste perhaps. We had eaten a large lunch that day, so I opted to have a starter in lieu of a main course, and it really had the wow factor in terms of unusual flavour combinations which really worked - basically cauliflower with a strawberry sauce!! I savoured every mouthful. My husband enjoyed his meat main course. Then he had an apple & pear crumble and I loved my deconstructed black forest gateau dessert. Cocktails were also good. Service was friendly and helpful, with good English spoken. The river below the hotel is beautiful and its a lovely spot to relax, sitting on the boulders. The pool is also great, large with nice sunbeds and quite a suntrap in the afternoon/early eve, so plenty of space to relax after a day of exploring. Breakfast was an extensive continental style buffet with the best range of those on our Corsican travels. I think hot eggs could also be ordered, as I think I saw some being delivered to tables later on, but this was not an obvious option. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel as an oasis in central Corsica.

Recommend this hotel, absolutely wonderful. Welcome was lovely, room clean and products in bathroom really nice. Grounds of hotel were so relaxing, right on the water, beautiful views. Service from all members of staff was faultless.

The hotel is located close to a river where you can swim with direct access from the hotel. Cool! The pool area is really nice with a quite big pool and a superb vue. We had a very special room designed by an artist with a nice terrace. Re. size the room is okay, the bathroom is quite small. We liked our room from a styling perspective, but since there is no aircon you either have to use the fan or it becomes warm and humid immediately. The staff is very friendly and breakfast is good. However, it is too expensive. If it were included in the room rate the overall pricing would be fine. The food in the restaurant was okay, but also too expensive. That's why it is only 4*. It is a good location for hinking tours in Corte area and the area South of Venaro.

This is the 4th time we’ve stayed here and the hotel has had a fantastic upgrade. The staff were efficient and helpful and the room and food were excellent. We’ll be back! Next time we’ll try the new spa.

Hotel E Caselle was a wonderful place to stay. The entire place is very clean. Our room was nicely designed and decorated. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was a good size. The view from our room overlooked the river and up into the mountains beyond. It was amazing! The pool was great but we really enjoyed swimming and lounging in the river. Breakfast was dinner were both very good. Staff was courteous and eager to help. The only downside was the room can get a bit warm since there is no AC. We would definitely stay here again.
