Not a great start to our holiday, we'd been up since 1.45am and by 9.30pm we were done for so we went up to our room, having just got into bed we heard a key enter the lock and the door open, I challenged the person who apologised and left saying wrong room. I reported this to reception the following morning to Leo, he spoke to an older gent who looked at the PC and then said mistakes happen, we were not happy with this response, we also said about a bad smell in the room (sewer like). We were offered another room which we accepted but it would not be available until the afternoon, we repacked our cases and left them in reception and went out. The room was ready on our return so we took our cases and went up, as we were leaving the room for our evening meal, I checked the door was locked, it wasn't, and no matter what we tried it wouldn't lock, so we reported it to a young lady on reception who said she would get maintenance straight on it, after a couple of hours I went to check, nothing had been done, so I went to reception again, same person, said she would chase maintenance. On our return to the room at the end of the night the lock had not been repaired. The following morning I went back to reception to see what was happening and I was told they had no record of it. They sent for maintenance who said the lock needed replacing. It was done that day. I contacted our tour operator who contacted the hotel and they denied any knowledge of anyone entering our room. We had spoken to a few other guests and another had had they same happen to them. The hotel told the tour operator that security was important, yet I was sat in reception on the Saturday morning waiting for a hire car and a gent walked up to reception to ask for his spare key, the girl only asked him for his room number and NOT his name to confirm the room was his. Most of the staff are friendly enough there are a couple who should maybe think of a career change. One being an older barman, we walked up to the bar in the reception area to be snapped at that we should use the other bar which is for all inclusive, he never said that the reception bar was for premium drinks which had to be paid for, he was also the same with people when behind the all inclusive bar. There are a lot of cats roaming around the hotel, they can often be found on the chairs in reception, strolling around the pool and lying on people's towels, but the worst thing is they are in the dining room, there are signs asking people not to feed the cats, but these were ignored and people fed the cats at tables, not sure if the cats are strays or whether they belong to the hotel. The hotel is tired and could do with upgrading, starting by putting key cards on the doors.
