First of all, the positives: the staff are quite friendly and accommodating and the hotel is conveniently located very close to Gare de Paris-Montparnasse and metro stations.
Unfortunately, like many small independently-owned hotels, it’s not the most comfortable place to stay. The bed was fine, but the walls were not soundproofed . I could hear conversations in the room next door and even the sound of someone using the toilet in the room next door. Thankfully, I had silicon earplugs with me, or I wouldn’t have been able to sleep. The bathroom had been renovated, but the shower was cramped and the water pressure was very weak. The worst, however, was there were no amenities … no tissues (except for toilet tissue), no kettle to boil water for tea or coffee (which, obviously were also not provided). The hotel doesn’t even provide a complimentary bottle of water. That’s not an environmental choice either, as there’s no complimentary water fountain or service downstairs in the lobby either.
The photos provided on ********** for the room I reserved do not correspond at all to the room I had. The cute balcony is a nice eye-catcher, but it wasn’t in my room.
Despite a very pleasant staff at the hotel, this experience was not worth the price paid.
