This review am penning in down for the future travelers to this location/travelers for visiting jimcorbet area. Charekh resort is located around 22 km from the mainland ie kotdwar. Will start with the route to the property first. Route to the property is not adventurous, its dangerous. The road is not at all maintained. There may b around 80 hairpin bends and majority without any side barrier. And the route is also lanslide prone. By luck once you reached the location, then you will feel like you are trapped. No way you can choose any other hotels because there's no civilisation near to this and to return back to kotdwar back is not at all a option. And for corbet visitor like me, the schedule was morning jungle safari, u have to reach the pakhro gate by 6 am. For that one have to start from this property by atleast by 4 am. For that due to this dangerous route only option is now to hire a vehicle from property / hire a driver from there. Both option again a business for them. Now about the property. As i mentioned driving through this road and reaching there the attitude of staff there will b like. We will decide what all to offer, not the customer preference, as they know he or she cannot take another option now. The front office chap told me no wifi can be provided at my room and not even a phone in the room as they dont want the guest to decide when to call even the front desk. They will send a room boy to room when they wishes. They dont even provided any toiletries other than a bath towel. And now about the food. The menu again the resort staff will decide what you should eat. Some specific stuff they have kept inside refrigerator and from that they will cook and serve. Morning buffet i asked for a fried egg and that too they cant provide as the in charge told me only omelette can be served. Even for a simple egg, there is no option. They must have made a omelette batter and kept in refrigerator and making omelette from that. And finally while checking out, given a hat as complimentary. If they really want to give a hat to the guest, it should have been given while checking in as it may have helped the guest for using on jungle safari. Totally clueless staff. Or may b they thought the guest may buy that(again business. Giving one point for a staff named mukesh. He is the only one reason am giving one point to the property. Otrwse nothing to even call or name its a resort. Its just a hotel only.
