Ancien couvent converti en hôtel dans un cadre unique. La piscine est particulièrement appropriée et agréable avec les chaleurs de l'été. Vue exceptionnelle sur l'ancien château Restaurant en terrasse et avec de bonnes grillades au menu .

La instalacion de la piscina fatal: césped descuidado, hamacas rotas, sumideros rotos y sueltos, las duchas no funcionaban ni guna de las 4. No nos entregaron la habitación hasta las 18:30 porque estaba sin preparar. 30 minutos esperando para que nos habría tan la puertas del parking por la noche porque la recepcionista tenía que hacer más funciones. Ubicación excelente. La limpieza bien. Cocina bien. Atención del personal muy buena. Habitación bien. El aire acondicionado iba a ratos. Una diferencia considerable del año pasado a este. Tal y como está ahora le sobran estrellas. Tiene falta de personal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, everything is clean and the staff are very attentive. Breakfast and our evening meal were both excellent experiences. We enjoyed a stroll through the old part of town and visited the Plaza Del Coso. Choice of bars serving tapas frequented by the locals. Others have mentioned the charge for parking, 5 euros a night is very good after paying 68 euros for two nights in Madrid. We would stay here again.

Booked this hotel as a last minute decision as we were driving 8 hours from Almeria and wanted a nice break before our ferry ride back the following day. Have to say we were very disappointed and a little bit annoyed if I’m honest. As soon as we turned up plenty of parking with a gorgeous building in a stunning town with lots of history…however on entering the building we were greeted by a very stern receptionist who was a bit frosty and informed us that you have to pay for parking!! she spoke English and was very efficient were the only positives. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for the spa as we wanted to relax after the long drive and to get us refreshed ready for our trip back to work in our restaurant in the uk…however the spa only opens 12:30-7 and we arrived at 7:05 and our checkout time was 12, a bit of an oversight on our part but still a bit rubbish that we couldn’t even use the spa and frankly not very convenient for travelling guests! So then we thought well at least we can have a drink at the bar…NOPE closed until 8:30, so after an 8 hour drive could even get a beer or a cup of coffee, really bad! We ate in the restaurant, food was lovely service was terrible…perhaps this felt worse brought on by the disappointment so far but the waiter seemed very rushed off his feet by himself with only about 10 guests… The room was a bit dated and the bed was very uncomfortable, the advertised minibar was empty but perhaps over here a minibar just means an empty fridge pointlessly in the room? 9:22am and without asking a hidden speaker in the room plays very loudly some religious music very loudly without being warned by anyone the day before so that was a bit of a shock seeing as we were trying to rest!! Over all really not impressed, such a shame and a waste of a beautiful building.

We loved everything about our 3-night stay here. We arrived late morning knowing we were too early for check-in, but the staff were very accommodating and granted us early access to one of our rooms. Our stay in a junior suite was awesome. It was spacious, clean, and had a gorgeous view of the castle. The rooms were refreshingly quiet. Breakfast and dinner were wonderful and offered a little something for everybody, and being able to park in an off street lot that was secured every night was a bonus. The hotel is conveniently located in town and offers a quick walk to all of the sites and restaurants. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, and we would definitely return for another!

I spent two nights at this hotel this past April. I had stayed there almost 10 years before and I knew this was more of a budget hotel but I liked the location close to the city. While the location is great, the hotel itself can feel a bit run down. The public areas are nice and clean and well maintained but the same can't be said for the room. The in-room safe didn't work and so did the fridge. The bathroom was in dire need of a refurbishment as well. Service was also very barebone at the bar and it wasn't particularly busy but it was extremely slow. The location is nice however as i said at the beginning and it's easy to walk to the center and enjoy the restaurants and bars in the area. One thing to note is that parking is very limited and you have to call in or book in advance otherwise you may be stuck having to park in the streets which can be challenging as it's limited in this area.

At the last moment we changed our plans of staying in the Castilla Termal in Valbuena to stay here and be in town. Big mistake. The drive to get to the hotel is difficult through a narrow street by the river dodging people walking on the street and then a bridge that hardly fits two cars. But we did it for three days with only one hit to the curb. The hotel inside is nice. You can see the Castillo Peñafiel from the parking lot. Nice photo. As soon as you enter it smells clean and is very clean. We noticed that right away. The 3 points instead of 2 is because of the cleanliness. Also the restaurant was nice for one night. The beds were comfortable, but the bathroom was a challenge. You could hardly open the glass door to enter the shower because the bidet stops it. The shower was this huge system that you had to get under it to turn it on. As soon as you turned it on, you would get this hard spray of cold water to your head. We left the setting to open the hand held spray first and we put it facing the wall. Once the water heat up a little, we would change the setting to the shower, but still got a hard hit gosh of cold water first. it was annoying, to say the least. One of the sprays came straight to your chest and trying to avoid it, it soaked the towels hanging on the other wall . That's how strong this thing is. There was no space to stand to the side of this huge shower system. From the first day we kept letting the front desk know that our a/c was not stopping once it reached the temp we set of 24. Every night we kept having to get up to turn it off because it was too cold and then turn it on because the room was hot. We let them know every single day for three days and all we got was a front desk attendant trying to figure out the problem in her head. One of her recommendations was that she was going to set it to 23. I guess they control it, but that didn't make any sense. We got tired of trying to get them to understand. We left early in the morning and came back at the end of the day, so they had ample time to send someone to our room to fix it or at least look at it and see if it had something to do with the settings. On the last day we forgot to remove the red sign and the room was not cleaned, but that was our fault. But no comment that they had sent someone then, which would have been just as bad since it was our third day complaining, so they completely ignored our request and upon check out did not even apologize for the inconvenience we dealt with for 3 days. Breakfast was included, but we tried to go somewhere else and could not find any place nearby. The choices were not that great. The first day we asked for a tortilla and was offered bacon with it so we said okay. The tortilla was a flat rolled up omelette with nothing in it and the bacon was not cooked to a crisp. It was still pink and soft. They have parking right in front of the hotel, but you have to pay for it when you're already paying to stay there. That do

Its difficult to find due to weird traffic layout in Penafiel Which is completely over the top as the whole place is DEAD The layout of the hotel is very interesting as it was an ex convent Hence rooms were a bit cramped The domestic staff were OUTSTANDING a lovely lady came to our room and collected laundry as soon as we checked in She returned it personally the following day at a VERY low price Finding somewhere to eat lunch and or dinner was very difficult as everywhere seems closed both Monday and Tuesday Eventually hotel sujggested a place in town - bity hard to find but very good and dinner in hotel one night and in another hotel following night If I had known I would have stayed in Valladolid

Excelente hospedaje. Muy bien ubicado para visitar los viñedos de la zona. Habitaciones cómodas, restaurante acogedor y buena comida. Trato amable y sincero. El entorno hace revivir al original convento. Su patio interior es impresionante. No pierdan la oportunidad de disfrutar de este acogedor lugar...

El hotel es maravilloso, con instalaciones formidables, muy buena ubicación, tranquilo y con ese aire histórico que te hace sentir en otro tiempo. Disfrutamos de la piscina y de una sesión de hidroterapia. Todo el personal es muy amable y profesional. Sin embargo, me gustaría comentar dos cosas, dirigidas a la dirección, y con espíritu de mejora. La primera, muy trivial: pedimos una habitación con vistas en el momento de hacer la reserva y en efecto, las tenía (al castillo), pero se trataba de una habitación adaptada, con ducha sin mampara ni cortinas. Todo el baño se quedaba empapado de agua por más cuidado que pusimos. Las propias trabajadoras de la limpieza nos dijeron que no nos preocupáramos, ya que teníamos que utilizar las toallas para secar el suelo, y nos sentimos incómodos haciéndolo. Con una pequeña cortina de baño quizás se pueda arreglar esta situación, no lo sé. La segunda cuestión es más importante: elegimos el hotel por su spa, pero las personas encargadas descansan los martes y los miércoles. Alguien nos dijo que tenían que descansar dos días a la semana: POR SUPUESTO. ¿Alguien discute los derechos laborales de los trabajadores? Pero nosotros llegamos el lunes y salimos el jueves, y habría sido importante saber esto antes. Creo que sería adecuado poner esto bien claro en la web, que los martes y miércoles no hay SPA por descanso del personal, así nadie se siente chafado al descubrirlo sobre la marcha. Gracias.
