Um óptimo espaço para descansar, relaxar ou namorar com uma visão única do Douro. A vista é imperdível embora o acesso pelo GPS seja confuso, bem como a entrada no hotel - 2/3 casais também estavam tentando encontrar a entrada. A refeição foi maravilhosa e com estilo (parece gourmet mas é de ficar satisfeito e com requinte de chef). Quanto ao jacuzzi e sauna ficamos um pouco desiludidos. Um jacuzzi com apenas 4 esguichos para tanta gente não dá. A cama também ficou a desejar - não era tão confortável quanto aparecia mas era bem espaçosa. Na época em que fui, a piscina exterior estava fechada naturalmente. A noite tem um serão musical bem agradável.

While the staff was great , the food was somewhat limited as the main dining room menu never changed. Our rooms were spacious , clean and modern . The main problem was that the air conditioning worked only sporadically. Every day (sometimes twice a day) we reported that the A/C didn’t cool our rooms overnight. This lead to 4 adults in two rooms being tired each day. The lack of A/C was made worse by the fact that even though the windows opened there weren’t any screens to keep bugs out.

It was absolutely amazing stay that we had in Douro valley thanks to the Douro Royal valley Hotel&Spa, especially because our trip took place when it was mostly raining… luckily, me and my husband were able to use that time properly in the hotel’s spa, having massage, enjoying the time in the swimming pool, spending some time in sauna and even at the gym. Thanks to hotel’s facilities the trip was not a waste of time, we could rest actively, we also enjoyed very much the overall ambience of the hotel and taking care of the personell so that overall the hotel is a calm place to stay at. What caught us by surprise was absolutely stunning dinner- each out of 6 courses we had was prepared and served with such a mastery that we thought we are at the resturant with micheline star chef- chapeau bas to the Chef - your courses are absolute masterpiece and the best of the best we tried on our 2-week trip in Portugal. Thank you for this experience :)

The rooms were nice but front desk was not very welcoming, hotel decor seemed cold and plain. The restaurant was mediocre. Definitely not a 5 star. More like a 3 star. Was disappointed with our stay.

Had a stay at Douro Royal Valley and it turned out to be great. The suite was spacious with a super comfy bed, and the private garden offered a sweet river view. Waking up to the Douro River view was a highlight. The Palato D’Ouro restaurant served up solid Douro flavors, and the Ruby Bar had a laid-back vibe. Practical indulgence in the Douro's splendor. Fantastic experience.

My recent stay at Douro Royal Valley left me genuinely impressed. The suite was amazing: spacious living area, a bed that you sink into, and a private garden with a stunning river view—impeccable for unwinding. The bathroom was expansive, and waking up to the panoramic view of the Douro River was a daily delight. It's not about extravagance; it's about practical comfort in the lap of nature. Highly recommended for a high-standard retreat.

Amazing location right on the river. Fantastic views. Room was good. However it was expensive for what we got. The breakfast was good but the bar a bit soulless and the main restaurant was expensive and average. I didn’t think it was a 5 star hotel. No help with the bags, food wasn’t great, there was rarely anyone at the bar. Overall good but could be better.
